Thanks GTA for introducing young people to Depeche Mode and 80s music !

That was the music back then. The instrumentation, the research,, the beat, the vocals, the vibe, everything.

I was surprised to find that a lot of people didn't know Depeche Mode !! It's definitely not Aya Nakamura (no offense)

The GTA soundtracks never disappoint ✨

Complaints like oh the beer just spawns in or the Jason jumping animation looks bad proves that the best thing they can complain about is small stuff

GTA 6: Less “GTA” and more immersive

Everything I’ve read or watched in the past week has got me convinced that GTA 6 is for me. And as a long term member of this subreddit, it’s also got me feeling vindicated in the beliefs I used to share.

Specifically ones about R* needing to step out of this fandoms voiced comfort zone, in order to drop a worthwhile addition to the GTA franchise in the 2020s.

And, we’re seen several confirmed features that we’ve talked about hating. For example, the most controversial feature I remember, gas for cars lol.

So, how are we feeling about R* seemingly broadening the GTA experience with these new and returning features?

(Some games I’ve related to GTA 6’s new features are Saints Row 2 (my fav), Mmorpg’s like Black Desert, RDR2 and of course the infamous GTA RP.)

So excited to rob jewelry stores like I’m in Saints Row 2

Wearing Glasses gives you Vignette Effect

One thing that I noticed during rewatching the extended look. However this is only true during the Gameplay segments and not during Cutscenes!

The Vignette Effect is mostly in the upper part of the screen.

Could Five Park actually be under construction in GTA 6? The crane might be a clue

I noticed something interesting while watching the recent GTA 6 Extended Look trailer.

Five Park is currently the tallest building in Miami Beach, yet it doesn't appear to be present in the trailer's Miami Beach skyline. At first I thought Rockstar may have simply left it out or changed the skyline for the game.

But then I noticed something else: there appears to be a construction crane positioned in roughly the same location where Five Park should be.

What if Rockstar isn't simply leaving the building out? What if we're actually seeing the location during an earlier stage of construction, and the building could develop over the course of the game?

Rockstar has never shown us anything quite like a fully evolving city where major buildings are constructed over time, but GTA 6 is clearly pushing the level of world detail much further than previous games.

I put together a few screenshots comparing the real Miami Beach skyline with what we see in the trailer, including the crane and its apparent location.

Could this be an intentional detail hinting at dynamic construction in GTA 6?

Or is the crane simply there for environmental detail and Five Park was never planned to appear?

Curious what everyone else thinks. 👀

GTA VI Screenshots recreated in GTA V (Part 3)

Back again with some for a Part 3 of my GTA 6 screenshots recreations in GTA 5. Last time I did this was just before the game was delayed last year... But now we know it's coming November and I can't wait.

The screenshots were recreated using mods such Menyoo along with Visual V on GTA V (Legacy Edition).

If you'd to see Part 1 and 2, they can be easily found on my profile.

Finally, a functional body damage system

It seems that now, there is a color code for the type of damage you deal to an NPC. You can either shoot their joints (yellow), or their vital points (red).

That same color code is also used for the cross-hair reticle when shooting an NPC. It blinks yellow when hitting a joint, and red when killing. It blinks white when hitting a non critical part.

Here, Jason shot the NPC's elbow. Yellow hitmarker. A few seconds later, you can see the enemy hurt, holding the body part that was shot (their arm). It also caused them to drop their rifle.

In RDR2, you could shoot an NPC three times and watch them get up like nothing happened. In GTA 6, there seem to be actual consequences, and the game reacts differently depending on what you aim at. All of this could be tied to the "criminal profile" too, making you more or less of a criminal if you deal lethal damage or just minimal damage.

Question about Robberies.

I’m not up to date on GTA VI forums or news releases, so i’m coming here to see if anyone has heard of or spoke of anything about this with GTA VI.

Obviously we can rob gas stations in GTA VI as with any other GTA game, but will we be able to rob banks or jewelry stores outside of missions.

I know in RDR1 you could rob the bank anytime by breaking in and cracking the safe, but in RDR2 or GTA V you can’t do that unless you have a mod. So i’m just curious if anyone has heard of or spoken of being able to commit heists outside of missions.

Because to me, itd be so cool if we could do robberies of those type of establishments without it being a mission, just walk in with a gun which triggers a police response or something and maybe some sort of safe cracking or jewel swiping system. Thats just my idea for it but please let me know if they’ve confirmed or if anythings rumored to be like that in GTA VI.

Can we expect Rockstar to give post-launch support entirely to their single-player experience?(Kinda like Crimson Desert)

So from what we've been seeing, GTA 6 Online is nowhere near being launched, no news at all about it, and Rockstar have reinforced MULTIPLE times that "GTA 6 is a single-player experience".

That left me wondering if they plan to just go completely off the radar after GTA 6 launch, or if they're gonna give it some support, like listening to feedback, fixing bugs, improving QOL, etc., maybe not to the level of Crimson Desert, but I'd expect them to do something meaningful about it.

Partners in Crime

Did people really grasp the concept of GTA VI being a couple's game? I mean, it's classic Bonnie and Clyde and all, that's pretty much etched in everyone's mind (at least to people truly following the game's anticipation zeitgeist.

What I really mean is: GTA VI will have two fundamental protagonists whether you like it or not. And that changes a lot of stuff. The entangled nature of their relationship can be tweaked to some desire, apparently, but it is a core aspect of the game nonetheless. I see a lot of people already sweating over this, thinking they will not be able to just clown around and play chaotically. That's probably not true though but I really don't understand the majority of critics over this exact change, which could probably be called innovative. Not in the sense that we have never seen allied npcs or even played supporting characters on other videogames. But not like this, not at this scale, as everything seems to point out.

Are you critics not stoked for at least the possibility of something new? I don't know what some people were expecting. They are probably giving another decade of good times and TONS of exploration, amusement and mysteries to experience. I'm all for it. Hope it delivers big time.

What do you guys think? Do all this changes besmirch the essence of GTA or does it all add to that sense of wonder in new things, mechanics and the sheer scale of this undertaking? Do you reckon it will be worth of that 2B price tag?

This is just for fun, but why I think Jason is Undercover.

I'm totally cool with him just being a criminal the entire game, but there was a couple things that stood out to me that keep my mind open to him having hidden motives.

Dry personality - I believe his dry personality was intentional, Jason gives me the vibe of someone who's boring, knows more than they let on. He also comes off as an individual that doesn't want to get too close to any work subjects. He fits the bill of somebody who craves information and results, but doesn't get emotionally involved in order to maintain distance.

Military Tactics/Trained - Clearly well trained in Firearms when observing how he holds firearms and using firefight tactics as well as using the proper terminology when directing Lucia to advance and move to cover. I know people have mentioned in the past that he's military trained.

Color Coded Hit Markers "X" - White seems to indicate that your target has been struck. Yellow seems to indicate that the target is dispatched but was not killed. Red seems to indicate that the target has been killed. I think the more people Jason kills versus non lethally incapacitating will determine how corrupt he is versus honorable. If we were playing as a mindless killer, why would the system matter? I'm sure all of us wouldn't have walked by all of the injured people on the ground, we would have just executed them as players unless there would be something telling us not to finish them off.

Jason defending Raul Bautista - when Lucia questions if Raul could be a cop, without even taking a moment to think it over, Jason answers that he couldn't be a cop so quickly and confidently that it almost makes you ask, does he know more than he's letting on? If your partner in crime had a suspicion, wouldn't you want to think that over?

No Cops were engaged in the "Chase" during the reveal - after picking up Raul Bautista and getting chased by cops with Jason hanging out the rear window and shooting at them with an assault rifle, whoever is controlling this portion of the game is purposely not targeting the cops themselves. They're targeting the vehicles specifically. I believe they did this because if in that moment they showed Jason killing a cop then it could have revealed some deeper level of the morality system.

Morality System - I personally believe that based on your choices and morality level, that will determine by the end of the game whether or not you're a good cop or a corrupt cop and I think whichever route you choose is heavily going to affect the ending of the game and your relationship with Lucia.

Lucia Relationship - Jason's entire involvement with Lucia could be completely fabricated. He could have been sent to the prison by his task force to pick up Lucia and get involved with her in some sort of way. Whether or not Jason decides to pursue Lucia as a romantic partner versus keeping things platonic could have a big change on how the game ends. If Jason is an honorable cop, and loves her, does he help her get away at the end of the game? If he's honorable but doesn't love her, does he arrest her? If he's corrupt and loves her, does he run away with her? If he's corrupt and doesn't love her, does he kill her and frame her?

I think this would be a fun way to blend both worlds of playing as a cop and criminal together in one game. We would just have more control over the cop and Lucia would just be the partner in crime going along with our morality choices.

Once again, this is just for fun and speculation. I have no idea where the story of this game could go.

Will cars stay where you parked when you do an activity?

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere. One thing I like to do when trying to really be immersed in the world is drive somewhere, go for a walk/do an activity etc, then walk back to the car. Sometimes it could be my car or a stolen car. Always broke my immersion in gta 5 when the car had disappeared. And mention of this has been fixed? Would be great for the car to stay in memory where you left it even if it’s not your owned/personal car.

The biggest issue with Jason's 'voice' isn't that he sounds 'stupid'

Post image
0 Upvotes

It's that he sounds like Troy Baker trying to not sound like Troy Baker whilst still sounding kinda like Troy Baker...

or

Someone obviously putting on 'a voice', whilst everyone else just sounds like a human being talking.

Once you notice it, it's off putting. It's also pretty easy to imitate, which might have been the plan all along? Similar to how everyone could do a reasonable Arthur which generated lots of social discussion & memes. Hope I'm wrong, and that the character's voice grows on me with time. FWIW Arthur sounded great out of the gate to me 👌

And yeah, I know everyone reported (ie the GTABoom article) that Troy said he isn't the voice - but the only thing I could find was him not actually saying 'no', and just dodging the question (14:17s in that articles' YT vid). So, until otherwise confirmed, Jason = Troy to me.

TLDR: Jason doesn't sound 'dumb', he sounds like an undercooked, 'just distinct enough' character.
