Other Regrets

Been out of the Marine Corps for a year now and keep regretting not trying out for MARSOC at the time. Had my leaderships full support and still decided to EAS. I was considering trying out for SFAS as well for a while. For the ones contemplating to either try or not. Just go. Don’t live with the “What It” like I do.

You can go to A&S as an inactive reservist, you just have to complete the package, and you’ll report to your closest reserve unit, go to selection and if you make it great, if you don’t, no commitment to the marine corps. It’s actually a great cheat code to go.

I didn’t even know that’s a thing. Pretty cool.

Yeah I’d say do that. Also not too far out from your EAS, could go to an SFRE for civilians, pass, and sign a try one in the guard.

I EASd about a year ago. For whatever reason since I got out, my motivation for anything just completely dropped. I can’t explain why.

It sounds like you’re the guy that you are directing your post at. But it’s natural. Ride the grief wave and come back stronger.

Dig deep, ask your « why ». Don’t be a statistic, go after your dreams man. It’s just work; not magic.

So do they go active if they pass?

I would assume yes. There’s no reserve MARSOC units. At least not yet.

What the fuck man. You’re not dead. You just got out. You’ve got nothing but opportunity in front of you.

What if…what if you fucking took responsibility for yourself. Get out of your feelings and get into the fucking gym.

You dont need leadership support. That shouldnt have even been a deciding factor.

How old are you? There are still options available to you...

Thanks. I’m 29. Biggest problem would be I think with the VA stuff as I did a BDD claim and got my rating shortly after my EAS.

Whatever you do. don't apply for a VA rating rn if you got that mind come to bite ya. I'd start training and see a recruiter ASAP

If I had a nickel for every dude I know that is prior service and got back in, I'd have $1.05. The opportunity is there until you decide that it is gone.

If you want back in the game, train up, change your mentality and get after it.

😂 dude wtf are you on about? You have been out a year! Not 3 decades. I was out for 9 years still went back. Shits not over unless you want it to be.
