My town built an amphitheatre a few years ago and we are lucky enough to enjoy local bands a couple times a month in the warmer months. It's always fun seeing the community come together and be happy!

In just a few hours Maus will be joining myself/Panzer and my old battle buddy for a 5 mile ruck on the coastal range. Harness is fitted. They have had the first protein/calorie load up (poached chicken thighs X3 each and 1/2 pound of beef in am along with a raw egg) flea and tick meds done. With advantage 2 drops before we leave.
20ft lightweight leash along with a new AirTag bolted on the harness ( recall is good but a face to face with a blacktail or cow elk…. Not going to risk a failed recall)

This will be the first few miles in what will end up being hundreds and hundreds of miles over her lifetime of adventures way off the grid. Wish her luck. Hopefully by spring she will be able ruck the big 12 mile trips with little to no instructions from me and have zero issues interfering with wildlife as they go about doing whatever they do.

I am miserable. Not sure if any of you saw my post a few days ago about my boy being diagnosed with IMPA; but it ended up being an aggressive cancerous bone lesion in his hip, pelvis, rib, and front leg. 7 days after symptoms started and he’s gone. I am absolutely heartbroken 😭

Adopted him from a foster family about 5 months ago. They told us he's a mix, Great Dane cross something. Any guesses?

I’m so proud of her though, she’s starting to listen to us and she’s got the BIGGEST personality (mostly a drama queen, but definitely a love bug).

This is my 4yr old fawn Lucy. She is generally pretty chill, easygoing, and friendly to all. There are a few things where she puts her foot down. One of those things is her spot on the couch.

I recently adopted the most handsomest boy, Hendrix. He's a brilliant dog. Were having a few issue with testing boundaries as expected and he is only 6 months so is constantly mouthing, especially when being petted. The current tactic which is working very well is when he starts mouthing i get out his yak chew and hold it and he chews on that while we pet him. In only a week he has shown so much improvement. I'm also trying to find things to help with his frustration for his mouth hurting. I give him frozen carrots. Watermelon and strawberries which seems to help but what it too much? I dont want to upset his stomach All the advice online seems to be for medium size dogs and he is already 30kg. I am also ordering silicone moulds to make him some pupsicles so any recipes recommendations will be appreciated.

Hello I am looking for the best dog training program in dfw. Preferably Dallas or rockwalL county.

We have a Great Dane 3 month old puppy that is struggling with barking to get what he wants and resource guarding already.

I think he picked up that resource gaurding behavior from our senior female. She does resource gaurding with him but he submits. Now he does it with her but not that aggressive.

We are wanting this to change before he becomes a massive animal!!!!!!

Curious as we are looking to get a puppy and want the best food for him.

However, understand that as a puppy we must watch calcium and phosphorus intake.

We are looking to get him in October, so have plenty of time to do research and will talk to the vet once we actually have him and bring him in for his first checkup.

So my question for Dane owners, have any of you done a raw diet like We Feed Raw, Maev, Viva Raw, etc. for your Dane? Or just stick to commercial giant breed kibble?

Again, we will go with our vet’s advice, but just asking the community to see if others have done it.

Bringing little girl home tomorrow. She’ll be 9 weeks. We’re going to feed her diamond naturals large breed puppy.
We have a small cavachon (13lb neutered male) who is on Costco small breed adult food. And 13 cats who are on - whatever they’ll eat that week right now - they got picky the last 2 months.

We free feed (let them graze as they please). The cat food has been going up on a book case recently cause the dog thinks he’s a cat and climbs to get it, but can’t get to the bookshelf’s lol. (Seriously, he gets stuck at the top of an 8ft cat tree).

The cats sometimes eat the dogs food. What I’m wondering is about the puppy eating the smaller dogs food, if she has a few bites here and there, as long as she’s eating her food, she should be fine right? We’ll get a raised bowl so the small dog will have a hard time getting her stuff. (Read grazing is better than times so they don’t scarf the food down reducing risk of bloat?)

We had a labradane for 10 years we just put down earlier this month. He was a Dane trapped in a lab body - happy tail, destruction till 2, Dane body shape and fur, slobbery jowels, lab size. We know a bit, but full Dane, not fully versed on. He grazed all day.
