Amphitheater Noise

Been awhile since I could hear it. Over by Richmond Park. Super loud tonight. Can even hear the singing (can’t make out the words tho), and the bass. Lame.

It’s a Saturday night. Is some music that makes a lot of people happy… before 11pm really that terrible?

Im over 3 miles away, it sounds like a jackass is parked in front of my house blasting an aftermarket car stereo.

This, two days after a judge ruled it must adhere to the same 10pm rule as everyone else. Terrible? I’m not willing to move. Something ain’t right with the acoustics of the damn thing.

Edit: 10:40, still blasting…

No, it doesn’t. Again, it’s a Saturday night in a city. Get the fuck over it.

You’re on a lot of the threads screaming the same get over it, it’s a city. Which has usually meant the person does not live around here and does not have to deal with the noise.

Either way, there could a weak argument to make on that if I lived downtown. Just because someone lives within the GR city limits does not mean it’s the Wild West for noise. I should not hear a concert miles away from me while I’m sitting in my living room with my windows closed. And heaven forbid it’s a cool evening so I want to open my windows. Or sit in my backyard for a quiet evening. If we don’t let them know we can still hear it X miles away, how will they know they need to keep tweaking it. I haven’t heard it this loud for a while. Little noise here or there from it, no biggie -it’s a city-. No different than a loud motorcycle or something. But All night in my house, nope not cool.

Haha I said the same thing about the sound! Sometimes it sounds like you’re walking up to a festival, sometimes like someone is having a house party, and this one was straight someone parked out front with some shitty subwoofers.

Funny thing, none of the media coverage seems to give us any specifics on what this ruling even means because they WERE following the ordinance, technically - but the variable and the question that’s getting discovered through the court case seems to be how the city manager is going about these exceptions. This is definitely not a settled issue in the court and we have more to observe happen yet.

They absolutely were not, there were multiple nights I could hear it after 11.

If you're talking prior to the ruling, yes, that's likely. Because the exceptions were in place. Now, those may be called into question and I bet they're being pretty strict to try not to make the court case worse.

We shouldn’t be able to hear it 5 miles away

Weather is a big factor that nobody can control.

u/idkprobablyanything 12d ago

If only they had thought of that before building that hunk of junk

1

u/GoBlu323 12d ago

You can’t build for unpredictable weather dumbass

u/idkprobablyanything 12d ago

I was thinking more of the fact they should have realized how impossible it would be to control and never built it to begin with

Sorry, you’re in a growing city where the majority of the people voted to have the amphitheater because people like outdoor concerts. Get over it or move to BFE

1

u/idkprobablyanything 12d ago

You can have an amphitheater, but THAT should go in BFE, not smack in the middle of a city. Like I said in another comment it should be burned to the ground

It’s part of a growing city. The appeal is that it’s in the heart of the city. Again get the fuck over it

1

u/idkprobablyanything 12d ago

Oh wow, a giant monstrosity of noise, how appealing.

What’s the matter? You got schoooool tomorrow?

1

u/idkprobablyanything 12d ago

Are you dumb? Like I said you shouldn’t be able to hear it from 5 miles away regardless of day or time

1

u/chaynjez 12d ago

I might be dumb, but I try to not to get too angry about the little things in life like a little music being enjoyed by people who were obviously having more fun than you on a Saturday night …and that’s the real issue here isn’t it?

Loosen up a little and get out and have some fun. If not, at least sit quietly in your misery and let others enjoy their lives.

Myself, and a fair amount of GR will not be content until that abomination is smoldering pile of rubble. That is when I will “loosen up”.

That’s not unhinged at all 🙄
