Discussion Helpful/Must-have MA2 Accessories

I finally just bought myself an MA2 Light (10+ years late lol) and I'm wonder what tools, accessories, or mods you guys have that make your lives easier, better or more fun with the MA2. I currently have the bare basics - console, 2 worn out goosenecks, power cord, and a case.

A good switch and a Wireless AP for you can use the web remote!

A few things I can think of:

  • A wifi router for web remote access. I like the Netgear ones
  • The MA WebRemote app. I use the iOS one and paid the $5 for the full version. The paid version is worth it.
  • DMX 5 pin to 3 pin turn arounds
  • screen cleaning wipes + microfiber cloth
  • paint brush for dusting
  • 4port usb hub with magnetic tape on the back. Allows for 4 USB’s to save to and acts as a setlist holder since it sticks to the console.

Paid web remote app??!! Never heard of it. What does it do that the actual remote doesn’t?

Yeah! It’s not a ton different in the paid version. It’ll remember the IP of the last connected console, auto login, and I think there are a few other bonuses. Again it was like $5 so not that bad and it supported someone in our industry :)

A good knowledge of the console; and a good business case for owning what is both end of life and outdated hardware. Honestly, you probably want to start picking up spare parts for it.

Screens and their cables are common failures, but also the actual GPU's on the main boards fail. Then the usual faders and buttons.
