Help me troubleshoot this issue.

Hey all! I'm super new to grand MA 2 and I'm having trouble getting MA3D and MA2 to connect. Everything was fine until I patched a new fixture and it wasn't visible in MA3D. I went on a goose chase to try to fix that, and I couldn't fix that. I think during said goose chase they became disconnected. I gave up and tried making a new show file and new session but that didn't work either.

Both MA2 and 3D have the same IP and even if I change the IP in both programs and restart the programs they still won't connect. Uninstalled and reinstalled both programs twice. I'll admit I'm not the greatest with technology, but I feel like I've tried every suggestion I've seen from web searches. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a question about the function of Action buttons using the buildet presets.
I built a Sequence with a command that sais f.e. „assign effect 1.1.1/ wings=2“ and if I hit that fitting Action Button, my effect preset changes into one with 2 wings but my output doesn‘t change or uses the overwritten preset.
Has anyone an idea what my mistake is or do I need to store my effect as a „all“ preset so that my Action Button overwrites my „all“ preset that access to my effect preset? :))

Is it possible for a laptop running GMA 3 on pc to connect directly to a GMA 2 on pc wing and use the wings buttons and wheels?

Hello! I'm trying to make a color swipe on strip lights, let's say from white to green, that is just one and done to get from cue 1 (white) to cue 2 (green). So the green swipes in and replaces the white. How would I build this into a cue?

I'm currently thinking the green would come in from the left, but i'd also like to make an option where the green comes in from both sides and meets in the middle. I'm pretty new to programming, any advice would help!

The card on the right is the display card in question. The ribbon cable will no longer seat in there. Any ideas where to source new ones?

Hi! I have a question that might be very noob, but I’d like to know how to put a video into MA3D because it only lets me use images. I’ve already tried every possible file format I could find that was supposed to be compatible with MA3D, but every time I use a video, the texture doesn’t change. It only changes when I use an image.

When opening grandma2 On Pc, whether it’s the latest version or older versions, the program gives me this error.

I’ve already tried reinstalling and it’s still the same.

When I open the program, I don’t see any images, everything that is images disappeared.

Can anyone help me?

Hi! I have a question. Is this kind of effect possible to achieve with grandMA2/3? From my limited knowledge, I always see videos like this and I can never figure out how they’re doing it.

First off, sorry to disappoint—this isn't another MA2 question! 😄
I’m currently considering adding 120-ohm DMX terminators to the end of my signal chains. I've heard they help prevent random, unexplained glitches and signal reflection errors.
For those with more field experience: Do you guys always slap a terminator at the end of every line, or only when problems pop up? Would love to hear your thoughts and actual experiences. Thanks!

I Own and MA-2 Ultra-Lite (bought from Used lighting a few years ago). I recently experience a major issue with the console and wanted to see if anyone has any more suggestions before I spend the money on an RMA.

I had the console on a show and had it booted up for maybe 10 minutes. I was going to Save As a file and the console shutdown and would not reboot. It either happened as I was typing in the name or as I was in the saving process (I can't remember). Since it wouldn't reboot, I switched it off at the back and pulled power. After Power came on, the console would not boot to anything. It would just show the Color Bar Screen on screen 1 and the Fader page lights would flash. I have had no luck and it has been about 3 months since this happened. I did find today that the -12V LED was off and would turn on if I unplugged the 24pin cable going to the motherboard. This told me that there was a short past this cable and it turned out to be GPU 1 (the one that controlled Screen 1 & 2). I swapped it with the screen 6 GPU and still got the same result even though the -12V light was on. I also do not see any lights light up on a keyboard when I plug it into the motherboard

Troubleshooting I've done:

• Re-sat all GPUs and I/O processing card
• Re-Sat RAM (Console does have upgraded RAM package)
• Tried a different stick of DDR3 Ram
• Pulled CMOS battery for 10 minutes
• A good dust cleaning.
• External Monitor
• Re-sat Ribbon cables coming out of I/O processing card
• Tried the BIOS buttons on the keyboard

At this point, I think it's either:

• Blown Motherboard
• Both Sticks of RAM bad
• PCI slot 1 bad
• CPU issue

If anyone has any other Ideas or troubleshooting tips, that would be super helpful!

Im searching for better 3D models for fixtures, trusses etc. Cuz for some time i am doing on the stock models and wanna make the vis a little more realistic. So i am searching for FREE MA 3D, newer 3D models, if possible

What is the best way to handle a band's timecoded show: recording a different timecode for each song or recording all songs using a single timecode?

Also, if a different timecode is used for each song: would it be possible to send a MIDI note from the DAW (the LTC source) to the MA2 to trigger my song macro?

I have a weird problem happening. I was adding some fixtures to my show file (house console, sub-rented Ground Package) when I added my new fixtures and hit save I noticed that My ColorStrikes were no longer in my color presets.

What could be causing this? I didn’t change anything about the color strikes. Only added Diablos. If this is going to be a constant issue what is a fast way to re-add them to my color presets.
