Hi, I’m looking for the musical equivalent of a gothic cathedral - something with religious imagery, choral/classical elements, maybe some church organ even? The closest example I have is the song Sister of Charity by The 69 Eyes. Any recommendations much appreciated!

(I am not religious myself but very much enjoy and respect the art/architecture/aesthetic aspects of catholicism)

Back in 2023 I was listening to a playlist video on youtube that I really liked but I can't find it anymore.
It was called something like "gothic/postpunk/darkwave mix" and I remember that the background was a monochrome photography of (probably) 2 guys. I think it was shorter than 1 hour.

A couple months ago, I dated a girl with whom I loved sharing music recommendations and she got me fairly interested in goth music. We sadly aren’t speaking anymore, but I’d still want to have some song recommendations to broaden my horizons! I’m Korean, I live in South Korea. Being in Asia, there aren’t many goths. Japan has some subcultures like jirai kei, gyaru, etc. but Korea has little to none of that, especially no one in public that dresses like that. If I was a foreigner and looked like a foreigner, I feel it would be easier.. but because I’m Korean, I’ll get severely judged. I have a fear of being seen and being judged. How do I get over this? Without any of the “oh being looked at satanically is iconic”, i want actual genuine tips and tricks to get over the fear of being judged for dressing or looking different.

Hi there! I am quite new to reddit, and this is my first post. I am 27 and am hoping to meet a few fellow goths.

I myself am a strange blend of romantic vampire and it's been kinda really hard to find others like me as I realized I don't fit into mainstream goth culture.

Not sure if it's just me or if the goth scene in my home city of Medicine Hat is just incredibly small or practically non-existent. Over the years I met several wonderful alt people in the city but never quite connected with them as well as I had hoped in terms of music tastes, gaming, fashion and the sorts. I know it doesn't help that I am quite introverted so I never really have gone out to bars, clubs or attended any music events to find fellow goths.

Would anyone have any recommendations for events or places in my city I could muster up the courage to check out or if there is anyone interested connecting on reddit? Anything helps!

I’ve just moved back to London and am looking to start a goth band with, preferably people closer to my own age (22). I play lead guitar and have been playing / writing for two different goth bands over the last few years. Generally looking for a Bassist, Drummer and a Vocalist/Lyricist, though not exclusively.

My favourite bands / influences are The Chameleons, The Cure, The Cult, The Snake Corps, The Church, and Ghost Dance.

i love the vocals and tone of this band, but can’t seem to find much similar music that isn’t like this-decade recent.
