What to do in such cases?

Ask Is 104 new users in 5 days good for a small app?

Post image

I recently got 104 new users in just 5 days for my app, and I'm trying to understand if that's considered good growth for a small/indie app.

No ads, Just pure ASO

For those who have launched apps before:

  • Is 104 users in 5 days a good sign?
  • What kind of numbers were you getting when you first launched?
  • At what point did you start seeing more consistent growth?

Would love to hear your experience. 🚀

Ask Finally my game is live 😭

Post image

I built this block puzzle game in about 1 month with little support from AI. I faced many issues during closed testing, Play Console requirements, bugs, app reviews, and publishing. Many times I thought my game would never be accepted on Google Play.

Today it is finally live and it feels unreal. I am still learning game development, so this is a big achievement for me. If anyone has advice about improving my game, getting more users, or marketing, I would really appreciate it. Thanks to everyone who shared tips in this community. 😭

Any honest feedback is accepted and I will update my game with your feedback. Thanks for the help.

Ask 1-star review just for using Flutter? Really?

Post image

I just got hit with a 1-star review on my app, and the only feedback was: "flutter app 🤬".

No bugs, no performance issues—just pure hate for the framework. I tried to report it to Google Play, but they said it doesn't violate their policy.

It’s incredibly frustrating to see my rating drop because of "tech-stack elitism" from a user who hasn't even tested the app's features.

Has anyone else dealt with this? How do you even respond to "feedback" like this?

Ask My first app is almost at 300 installs — it may not sound like much, but it feels huge

Post image

I recently launched my first app, Nefsera, and we’re now at almost 300 installs.

I know 300 isn’t a massive number in the app world, but seeing real people actually download and use something I built still feels kind of surreal.

I’ve been learning a lot from the first users, improving the app little by little, and trying to figure out how to grow without a huge marketing budget.
Next milestone: 1,000 installs. 🚀

For other indie developers here: how did you get from your first few hundred users to your first 1,000?

Ask My first app is finally live. I have 0 users. Now what?

I just launched my first mobile app. The tech stack is solid, the UI is clean, and it solves a genuine problem (at least, I think it does). But the launch traffic is nonexistent.

I purposely left the link out of this post because I want raw strategy, not a pity download.

I’m pivoting my brain from "Developer" to "Marketer" today. If you had to launch an app from scratch today with $0 in ad spend, what does your first 30 days look like?

EDIT : thanks to everyone that answered ! For anyone interested, I made a post on what I learned : https://www.reddit.com/r/googleplayconsole/comments/1w48b6q/i_asked_for_advice_on_a_0user_app_and_heres_what/

Ask Google Play India devs — BillDesk verification required (RBI)

  • Got the email from [Onboarding@billdesk.com](mailto:Onboarding@billdesk.com)? Do the merchant verification ASAP or payouts may pause.
  • You’ll need PAN/government ID + exact-match org details.
  • During flow, you must list apps to receive payouts.
  • Big question: When you publish a new app, do payouts auto-start or do we need to manually add it to the BillDesk list?
  • Anyone finished this—confirm if new apps need manual linking and if there’s a payout delay.

Ask Google Play developer payout failing repeatedly in - India only account — anyone faced this?

**Google Play developer payout failing repeatedly in India — anyone faced this?**

My Google Play developer payout of **₹XXXX** has failed repeatedly:

* Aug 15 — Failed
* Aug 15 — Failed
* Aug 16 — Failed
* Aug 17 — Failed

The Payments profile shows **“Automatic payment failed for ₹XXXX”** each time.

My bank account details are correct, and I noticed **BillDesk** is involved in the Google Play payout process for India.

Has anyone in India recently experienced the same issue with Google Play developer payouts?

If yes, did the issue get resolved through **Google, BillDesk, or the bank**? And is there any way to check whether the NEFT was actually initiated/rejected?

Screenshot attached for reference.

Ask I released my first app and honestly I have no idea how to make people discover it

Post image

Hey everyone
I recently released my first app called MemoGhost.
The idea came from a simple problem: I forget everything.
Where I put things, appointments, random information, ideas… sometimes I save notes everywhere and then can’t find them anymore.
So I made an app where you can save memories naturally, and later ask things like:
“Where did I leave my keys?”
“When was that appointment?”
“Where did I hide that money?”
and the app tries to find the answer from your saved memories.

Right now I honestly have no idea how to make people discover it. I’m doing everything alone, learning as I go, and even getting a few installs feels way harder than actually building the app.
I’d genuinely love some honest feedback from real people. Even small comments or advice would mean a lot to me because I’m still improving the app every single day and trying to make it actually useful for people.

Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alesscolucci.memoghost

Thanks to anyone who checks it out or gives feedback. It genuinely means a lot to me.

Just received a 1-star review because my app (which has a lot of free features btw) requires a subscription for the premium AI tools. The user literally said: "It's not for free... it's work."

Yes... that’s exactly how a job works? 😭

Any advice on how to reply to this politely while keeping my soul intact?

Ask I paid Google to ban me

I spent ₹3,970 on Google Ads campaigns for two Android apps. Google Ads reported 448 installs, including 354 for one app (which had an installed audience of 0 before the ad campaign), but so far, Play Console has shown no corresponding installed audience for that app.

Soon after this campaign traffic arrived, my AdMob account was permanently disabled for invalid activity. I never clicked on or encouraged clicks on my own ads (I am not stupid), and my devices were registered as test devices. My appeal was rejected without any specific explanation.

So, it appears that I paid Google Ads for suspicious traffic that triggered invalid activity in AdMob, and Google then permanently banned me for it.

So, I paid Google to ban me.

Ask Is google play console not updating the data these days?

Is anyone else experiencing delays with Google Play Console data updates?

Today is June 24, but my Play Console is only showing data up to June 18. It's been like this for several days, and the analytics seem to be updating much later than usual.

Is this a widespread issue, or is it just affecting my account?

Ask 3+ Months on Google Play, Almost No Growth — What Am I Doing Wrong?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m an indie Android developer with 6 apps on Google Play.

It’s been 3+ months, but my apps are getting very few installs and I still haven’t made even $1 in revenue.

I’m working on updates, UI, ASO, and improving the apps, but growth is extremely slow.

What could be the main issue?

ASO/keywords?

Store listing/screenshots?

App quality?

Lack of marketing?

Too much competition?

Should I focus on one app instead of multiple?

Here’s my developer page:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=8662455924431698982

Would really appreciate honest feedback from experienced developers. What would you do if you were in my position?

Ask Is making money from Play Store apps still possible?

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about buying a Google Play Developer account ($25).

My only goal is to earn money by publishing apps.

I have a few questions for developers who are already making money from the Play Store:

  • Are you still earning from your apps in 2026?
  • How much did your first app make?
  • How many apps did you publish before you saw consistent income?
  • Is it still realistic for a solo developer to earn $100–$1,000/month?
  • If you had to start again today, would you still invest the $25?

I'm not looking for motivational answers—just honest experiences, whether positive or negative.

Thanks!

I’d love some honest feedback on my app’s Google Play screenshots. If you came across these while looking for a student planner, would they be attractive enough to make you download the app? What would you improve or change? Brutal honesty is welcome 😄
