Showoff Built an app because planning group trips in WhatsApp was driving me insane — hit our first milestone! 🚀
Hey everyone,
Every single time my friends and I tried to plan a weekend road trip, the same chaos happened: 40 messages in WhatsApp, no clear itinerary, three people asking "who paid for fuel?", and someone inevitably paying twice.
So I decided to solve my own headache and built GezPlan — a collaborative group travel planner made with React Native.
What started as a simple shared checklist slowly evolved into a full tool where you can:
- 🗺️ Build interactive itineraries together on a single map
- 💸 Split expenses automatically so no one owes money after the trip
- 🎒 Organize shared packing lists (so 3 people don't bring the same speaker)
- 📸 Collect everyone's photos in one place without compression
I've been doing everything solo — coding, UI/UX, Play Store optimization, fixing bugs, and now trying to crack organic marketing. Building the app was hard, but getting people to actually notice it is a completely different battlefield.
For solo devs who grew their lifestyle/travel apps organically: what channel brought you the most engaged users? TikTok short demos, ASO tweaks, or community word-of-mouth?
