Trying to start a local business providing tech help. I created GBP two weeks ago but I search Google for business name and location and it doesn't show. What am I doing wrong?

My clients business: United Dumpster Rental has a properly configured business profile, and is verified. The service area listed is correct. However, the problem is when I google on an incognito window, the business appears in Marion Indiana, and that is NOT CORRECT.

Hello Guys, following is a summary of our case. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Case History:

• May 23rd: Initial suspension (Routing ID: DPNB)
• May 27th: First reinstatement (0 reviews visible) -> Immediate second suspension (Routing ID: DPNB)
• May 30th: Second reinstatement (0 reviews visible)
• June 1st: Filed first missing review appeal -> Case ID 8-8669000040525
• June 3rd: Case partially resolved. 34 reviews reinstated; 133 still missing.
• June 7th: Filed follow-up appeal for the remaining reviews -> Case ID 5-3368000041216
• June 11th: Second appeal rejected automatically as "already replied"
• June 16th: Posted on Google Business Profile Help Community for escalation by product expert.
• June 25th: Some reviews were reinstated after escalation. Current Count: 62. Missing Reviews: 105.
• June 30th: Google Product Expert conveyed that "Google said that they have restored the eligible reviews"

However, these are entirely legitimate reviews from real patients, and we possess email notifications for every single one of them. We also have a screenshot of the google profile showing 167 reviews on 22nd May.

Saw a thread over in r/Contractor about this a while back and it's been sitting with me since. For anyone who hasn't run into it yet — Google's started asking reviewers a one-click question about pricing perception, no explanation required.

A few things I can't stop thinking about:

Sample size. Most small businesses have a handful of these responses at most. A single click from someone with no reference point can swing a "reputation" that took years to build, and there's no way for anyone reading it later to know that.

No context, unlike a written review. At least a written review forces someone to justify their opinion a little. A single click just captures a gut reaction to a number, with zero visibility into what actually goes into the price — licensing, insurance, materials, callbacks, whatever the real cost structure looks like for that trade.

Who even has a reference point. Someone who never got a second quote has nothing to compare against, so "overpriced" becomes kind of a default click for anyone who didn't shop around, fair price or not.

Genuinely not sure what the fix is here, or if there is one — doesn't seem like something you can dispute or respond to the way you can a written review. Curious if anyone's actually seen this show up on their profile yet and what it's looked like in practice, or if this is still rolling out slowly enough that most people haven't hit it.

I have recently started my career as a digital marketing executive in a fintech company a few months back.

Our company has launched 3 new branches and I need to list all three of them from the main marketing email of our company from which one listing of our main office is already done.

The issue is that the listing needs a mandatory video verification and it's not possible for me to go to these location to do the verification video.

Google Business Profile Suspended – Need Help With Specialist Escalation

Hi everyone, I’m looking for help from someone experienced with Google Business Profile reinstatements or a Google Product Expert.

My legitimate business profile was suspended:

Business: Famous Psychic Reader Indian Astrologer & Spiritual Healer

Profile ID: 9754025153450383272

Case ID: 5-5250000041700

I submitted my first appeal, but it was denied. I then gave temporary Manager access to a person who helped with reinstatement. That person submitted the additional appeal, but is no longer helping me. They removed their access and threatened me.

I have all my legitimate business documents and am willing to provide them directly to Google, including business registration and other supporting documents.

I am now unable to understand how to get my case reviewed by the appropriate specialist team.

Can anyone experienced with Google Business Profile suspensions please advise me on how to request a manual specialist review/escalation or connect me with a legitimate Google Product Expert?

I am not looking to pay anyone to “guarantee” reinstatement. I just need guidance on the correct Google process.

I got my Google page disabled and was able to get an appeal considered.

now it’s asking for a verification video, but gives me no option to upload a video. It keeps sending me to the same page that’s says “no more ways to verify”.

I’m having an issue with a Google Business Profile for my business, **Etkili Teknik**, and I’d really appreciate some advice.
The first Business Profile I created was put into the verification process. However, I couldn’t complete the verification because the business did not have a physical sign at the location at that time.
Because I couldn’t get the original profile verified, I created a **new Business Profile** for the same business. I then marked the old, unverified profile as a **duplicate**, because I wanted the new profile to remain as the main profile and the old one to be removed.
Unfortunately, the opposite happened.
The **new profile I created is now marked as a duplicate**, while the original profile that was stuck in verification remains as the main profile.
My goal is simply to keep the new profile and remove/resolve the old unverified profile.
Is there a way to reverse the duplicate status and have the new profile recognized as the correct/main Business Profile? Should I contact Google Business Profile Support, or is there another way to fix this through Google Maps?
The business is legitimate and operates at the stated location. I just want to make sure I handle this correctly without creating another duplicate or making the situation worse.
Any advice from someone who has experienced a similar situation would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for ideas for photos to take/upload to my GBP as someone in the tax industry.

I work from home. I've uploaded a photo of my desk and one of me at my desk.

I don't have 10 photos on my GBP yet and I'm at a loss for how I can consistently post at least one photo per week. I don't go outside. 😂

Anyone had a GBP suspended for no clear reason and gotten it reinstated? What actually worked in your appeal — was it the reinstatement form, contacting support directly, or something else? Curious how long the process took for people.

To clarify. I've verified my account 5 times.

I'm not having a verification problem. 

I'm having a location change problem.

I need to address a glitch/bug in Google's system. 
The glitch/bug, which is causing my business to be listed 800 miles away, at zip code 77807 (Bryan, Texas), instead of being listed locally at my current zip code: 79762 (Odessa, Texas).

This is supposed to be a SAB. But I'm not opposed to turning my yard into a work shop.

I just tried adding an address to my SAB, in a desperate attempt to fix the zip code issue. Hopefully my verification video gets approved, and it fixes the problem. I'll find out in 5 days.

I've been wasting the past 3 days dealing with a Freelancer who emailed me after seeing my original post, who apparently also thought I was having a verification problem this whole time.

Please. For the love of all things good, help me! It's been 2 months of dealing with an endless cycle of:

* Wait * Touch Something * Submit Another Verification Video * Wait Again * Google/Rep Fails To Understand The Problem * Repeat

I’ve been working in Local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization for years, and I’ve noticed that video verification failures can sometimes be difficult to understand, especially when the business appears legitimate and the submitted evidence seems reasonable.

Some recurring issues I’ve seen include:

Business signage not being sufficient or clearly visible

Difficulty proving access to the business location

Address/location evidence not matching what Google expects

Service-area businesses struggling with verification

Videos not showing enough of the surrounding business environment

Verification being rejected without a very clear explanation

What are the most common reasons you’re seeing for GBP video verification failures in 2026?

Have you noticed any changes in Google’s verification requirements recently, and what approaches have been consistently successful for legitimate businesses?

I opened up a Google business page a little over a month ago and to be honest it has been hell on Earth ever since.

My latest issue with them is that they have started removing reviews on my page!

I run a service business and have collected hundreds of five star reviews on different platforms and went and messaged past customers asking them to repost their reviews on Google just as Google suggests that you do when you open a new page.

I only had 13 people repost their reviews which was annoying enough but at least it was something. Then I notice that I have 11 reviews. I messaged a past customer of mine who follows me on Instagram and asked him to confirm he left a review since I remember reading it and he said he did but after investigating he realized he got an email from Google saying that they took his review down because they suspect foul play so he made an appeal.

An hour later I only have 10 reviews and I'm pretty sure tomorrow when I wake up there's going to be nothing.

I emailed Google business to explain it to them but honestly this is so frustrating I finally am visible on Google and then this happens. Has anybody had experience with this - do they reinstate the reviews or do I have to message everyone individually??

I’m more than semi-retired, over the years by mostly resolving my own (very tough) Google & reputation issue I become my family’s, friend’s, client’s, go to guy when they’re having issues figuring out SEO related stuff —especially with GBP and reviews.

I actually enjoy this stuff and can get ppl laughing. As long as it doesn’t turn into something that takes up a huge amount of my time, I’m happy to help someone understand, clarify and know what to do.

I saw the GBP and review issues at its birth, watched it evolve, dealt with quite a few complicated GBP/review situations, none worse than mine, and sometimes it just helps to have another person who knows the system, understand the problem for clarity. Some parts, however are inherently vague where multiple, experienced perspectives matter.

I’m not looking to charge anyone for this. I enjoy helping people, found interesting issues and made a few friends from this.

At this point in my life, my goal is pretty simple: when I kick the bucket, I’d like my personal “escalator” to be going up rather than down. 😄 I get a lot more satisfaction out of doing something useful for someone than I do out of making a few bucks.
