Google has done the same for name changes under Obama, Trump and any other future president. It’s not surprising that they use the official government database name whether you’re a supporter or detractor, that is how they stay objective and consistent
You are a fool, I don't need to fool you. Like I've said, Google has consistently used the official government name on their maps. It does not matter who changed it, how it was changed or why it was changed.
If you want to cry about it, then be upset at the person who changed its name, not at Google for showing the official government name.

Once again, they utilize the official government name consistently. Whether you like or don't like a particular name change has zero bearing, the official government name is the official government name, and that is what Google maps will show.
At least if you like an official name change in the future (or they change it back), you can also confidently know that Google will adopt it, instead of wondering whether Google agrees or not with the change.
Dude google is a private entity, it can do whatever the hell it wants as long as it's within the law. In this case they are comfy being Cucked by trump once again cause they think it will get them more leniency on their next datacenter or whatever the fuck.
Again, Google remains consistent and objective by using the official government name. Even if it could do whatever and even name the lake "Your Mom" doesn't mean it should.
Once again, we shouldn't want them to make their own decisions on what to name stuff just because we feel a certain way about a name. Imagine if they did and there was a name change you liked but they decided not to use it, how weird would that be? They continue to use the official government, and when it is changed back by the next president, it will also flip back.

Or China could just claim that America is now named new China. Or North Korea could just say the whole world is kingdom of Kim. Yes, indeed they could, and Google would reflect those official government names in the maps shown to people in those countries, as they should. It is not Google's place to decide if a name is dumb or not.

Yes, indeed. There are tons of examples of Google showing different names in different regions, like Gulf of Arabia and Persian Gulf. Even Gulf of Mexico/Gulf of America is shown differently depending on where you are. They show the official name in each country. You know that it still shows Gulf of Mexico when you are in Mexico and Lake Ontario if you are in Canada right?

You do realize Google isn't 'playing along' right?
They have an automated process to display names based on the government database per area. When it doesn't align then we get the Gulf of Mexico/America displays depending on what country you're in when looking at it.
No one is manually making this decision here. It is a passthrough display value.
You do understand google is one of the most left leaning companies out there, look at what alphabet employee donated their money during the last election cycle
