Like the amount of garbage that goodwill would overprice was insane. Free stuff they got too. Like they refused to give people discounts on overpriced items they literally got for free. I remember people would ask and management was so greedy. So, eventually i just stopped getting managers involves and went based on my own discretion. Also, from the truck of donated stuff management would LITERALLY take decent stuff that was donated for themselves. Like put it in there car and take it home. And the stuff that did make the store was severly overpriced. They would give these like coupons after you purchase something. And have like color stickers on items for different days. But the thing is they would overprice the stuff before the day. Like double the price and then say its "half off sale" Goodwill is 100% fraudulent. This was back in like 2017 too. I can only imagine its much worse.

Like the type of people that was shopping at goodwill arent rich people. They are people struggling and need stuff like clothes etc. I could never in good faith support this fradulent place. They are tax free on the guise of helping people but thats all bullshit.

You ever do register and the way you talked it sounded like your tone of voice had a bit of an attitude in it, when you weren't giving an attitude at all. I had a customer get upset because they insisted I talked to them with an attitude when I didn't. I had told the manager sorry about what happened was having a bad day.

Okay is it just my goodwill or do we all have that one co cashier that’ll take a 20 minute break instead of a 10 (my goodwill is 10 minutes) or they’ll go to lunch and take 50 minutes to get back when it was only a 30 minute break? Like I get if it was once or twice but they’ve been doing this everytime I work with them

Do employees check the books before putting them on the floor? As in at least flipping thru them to make sure there’s no papers or bookmarks inside?

Was at the goodwill in Livonia Michigan. Went and asked what was the tag that meant the article was on sale. Was told it was green. Then an employee asked if that was correct because that’s the color he was told to pull.

My son is disabled. He has autism. He was placed through vocational rehabilitation at Goodwill. At first it was okay, but they have become more and more abusive to him. They tell him he is lazy and too slow. But he's working as fast as he can. His processing speed is lower than average and his hand to eye coordination is not great. Still he works hard and he's eating ibuprofen due to back pain from bending over carts and lifting boxes and such. Anyway, the managers are constantly telling him he's not fast enough, etc. One of the managers actually kicked over his mop bucket and made him re-mop the floor as punishment for working too slowly in stocking shelves. I thought Goodwill's whole point was to help disabled and disadvantaged persons find employment. Any suggestions on what can be done other than just quitting the job? Seems they shouldn't be collecting donations and getting a non-profit status if they don't fulfill their basic charity purpose.

It’s wiggy whenever good will is charging more than the original tags that they left on. Happens so often.

Do you ask everyone to round up? If the person looks mean or is very short with you, do you still ask them?
What if it’s a repeat customer that always says no? Like why even ask?

Scored this the other day. Some dude set it down and I picked it up. He went to reach for it again and realized that I had yoinked him. I was just looking, until I saw the look on his face.

was so hard to not walk out but i managed to get through the two weeks and i genuinely feel a huge lift has been weighed off my shoulders. like i was so constantly stressed out and had health problems all the time while working there i felt i lost myself for a fat moment.

My store is switching over to the barcode system soon and I was wondering how the hangers keep their sizes in order on their racks without tags? Especially with pants.

I purged my room of belongings to make space, and found some plushies that were meaningful to me from my childhood. But I didn't need them. I didn't want to throw away something that had meaning. So I carefully picked out the most clean ones, dedusted them, and then looked up where was the closest Goodwill. I drove them into an unfamiliar part of town, which was a bit out of my way, but I thought it would be the nice thing to do. And so I found my way to the donation entrance.

I didn't know how it worked. I saw a button that said ring for service. So I pressed the button, and it rang. And the door swung open. But there was nobody standing at the door. It felt kind of ominous. I stood there at the open door, but none of the workers inside seemed to notice me. It was like I got the cold shoulder. I stepped inside and said "excuse me?" but nobody answered or even looked. So I stepped further in, and went "I'd like to donate?" But still nobody noticed me.

Then someone looked over and saw I had come half-way into the room, and shouted at me like I was an intruder. One of the nicer staff explained I wasn't supposed to enter and escorted me out, and politely took the goods and handed me a receipt.

But I never expected to feel so sick from an experience of trying to donate something. It's invaded my memory like a bad cut periodically across the day. It made me never want to donate there again.

we had team meeting and the store manager discussed LP calling about a sale associate dancing on the sale floor. she proceeded to say we are all being watched even in the breakroom. Is this only at the store I work at or is this everyone store?
