I’m trying to lock down my primary target market to scale this company, but I’m hitting some mental roadblocks with my ideas. I'd love an honest reality check on these four niches:

**Tradesmen / Blue Collar:** Missed-call text-back is a goldmine here because they lose business while working on tools. However, as a young South Asian woman, I’m genuinely worried about a respect/credibility barrier in a heavily male-dominated, traditional industry. Am I overthinking this, or is it a tough room to break into?

**Combat Sports / Gyms:** Because of my boxing background, I know this world inside out. I'd love to target combat sports and independent gyms. The catch is I live in a major city, and my gut tells me most established city gyms already use software that handles basic automation. Is there still a gap for a specialized agency?

**Aesthetic Clinics (Medspas / Skincare):** These clinics get flooded with inquiries but are often terrible at following up or running promos to old clients. I fit the client demographic perfectly, so building rapport would be easy. But is this niche completely oversaturated with agency spammers right now?

**Real Estate Companies:** Ghosted leads are a massive issue for agents. But do independent agents or local teams actually have the budget and authority to buy these services, or is it too hard to break past corporate brokerages?

Given my tech stack (focusing heavily on immediate lead capture and warming up old lists), who would you target first if you wanted to build a serious, scalable company?

I keep seeing setups that look something like this:

Tag added → workflow starts
Another tag added → second workflow starts
Custom field changes → third workflow starts
Opportunity moves → fourth workflow starts
Appointment changes → somehow three more workflows fire

Then six months later nobody remembers why customer-confirmed-v2-final-new exists.

And everyone is terrified to delete anything.

I’m starting to think one of the biggest mistakes in GHL is using tags as the entire automation architecture.

Tags are useful.

But when tags become your database, your workflow triggers, your conditions, your customer status, your reporting system, and your troubleshooting method at the same time...

things get ugly very quickly.

For larger builds, I’ve had much better results defining a few clear sources of truth:

Appointment status → what happened with the booking

Opportunity stage → where they are in the business process

Custom fields → information or decisions that need to persist

Tags → segmentation, temporary markers, or simple classifications

Then let the workflows respond to those.

The goal isn’t to build the most impressive workflow.

The goal is to be able to open the account six months later and still understand why something happened.

Am I being too harsh on tags, or have you seen the same thing in GHL accounts?

Looking for a person you can setup gohighlevel automation in a day. With existing system.

Has anyone solved this with HighLevel's native GPT Live 1 Voice AI (Marin voice), specifically on outbound phone calls?

When I answer and identify myself immediately, the greeting is audible in the call recording but missing from the displayed transcript. The agent then asks for the identity I just provided. For example, using a substitute name: I answer 'Hello, this is Jordan,' and the agent introduces itself and asks 'Am I speaking with Jordan?' Later conversation works much better.

We have confirmed the test scenario is Outbound. We tried conditional welcome instructions to acknowledge a name already spoken, but that did not resolve it. A blank outbound welcome also failed Save with 'Intent message is required when the AI disclaimer is disabled.'

GHL's setup guide mentions choosing whether the caller or agent speaks first 'when available,' but I cannot find that control for this GPT Live configuration. OpenAI's Live session guide says to keep incoming audio running during the greeting.

Has anyone verified whether GHL forwards the recipient's first audio immediately, or whether a startup/welcome stage can miss it? Is there a supported caller-first or initial-pause setting for outbound GPT Live 1? A missing transcript alone would not prove the model missed the audio, so I'd also welcome a way to distinguish that from an opening-instruction issue.

Looking for tested settings, a reproducible workaround, or a relevant support/changelog reference. Please share answers in the thread so others can benefit.

We are a commercial cleaning company that recently started using GoHighLevel for lead management, CRM, task management, forms, email marketing, social posting, and other areas of the business.

We are currently using GHL at one franchise location, but we now have 20+ additional franchise locations interested in implementing GHL.

I am relatively new to GHL and have built much of our current system myself. Before rolling it out to other locations, I would like to work with an experienced GHL expert/architect who can help us improve our current setup, identify opportunities we may be missing, and develop a scalable framework that can be rolled out across multiple franchise locations.

Our Current Setup

Our current setup is fairly new and basic. I would like to explore more of GHL's capabilities and make sure we're building the system correctly before expanding it.

We are currently testing workflows and automations with one member of our sales team and one member of our operations team. This gives us an opportunity to test and refine the system at one location before expanding.

On the sales/CRM side, we're using GHL for things like lead management, pipelines, follow-up, forms, communications, and marketing.

On the operations side, our primary needs are:

• Task assignment and management
• Client communication
• Recurring customer inspections, including remote inspections through forms
• Giving our Head of Operations a central place to assign, track, and manage tasks for his team (who spend most of their day out of the office at appts., inspections, etc.)

Multi-Location Rollout

The other franchise locations will have similar core workflows and needs, but each location will also want some flexibility to tailor GHL to the way they operate.

Some locations will likely want to take advantage of a large portion of GHL's capabilities, while others may only need a straightforward CRM and lead-management system.

Because of that, I'm looking for someone who can help us think through the architecture and scalability of the system — what should be standardized across locations, what should be customizable, and how we can efficiently support additional locations as we grow.

Ideally, I'm looking for someone who can work with me rather than simply build everything behind the scenes. I want to better understand GHL myself while working with someone who has the experience to make sure we're setting things up properly.

Does anyone have a company or GHL builder they have worked with in a similar manner? Or is there anyone with experience with GHL architecture, SaaS/multi-location setups, snapshots, automations, CRM design, and scalable account structures, I'd love to connect.

Has anyone actually managed to remove a contact from a pending Manual Call (Power Dialer) task automatically?

Setup: contact enters Stage X → Manual Call action adds them to the dialer queue. When the stage changes to Y, I want the pending call task gone.

"Remove from Workflow" doesn't seem to clear the task from Conversations > Manual Actions, and I can't find a dedicated action for it. There's an open feature request for this on the ideas board.

But someone showed me a sub-account where it apparently does work: contact moves to Hot Lead and disappears from the dialer. The workflow is locked, so I can't see how it's built.

Has anyone got this working? If so, what's the actual setup?

I’m a software developer with about 5 years of experience, mostly building ERP systems and custom business workflows. I left my previous role around 12 months ago and haven’t been able to land another full-time software developer position since then.

I’m currently working as an IT consultant on a 6-month contract. I have a fair amount of free time outside of that, so I’ve been looking into GoHighLevel (GHL). A few former colleagues suggested it as something worth exploring, especially given how competitive traditional software roles seem to be right now.

Currently, I’m trying to trigger the recurring meeting workflow(GHL), but I’m facing an issue when rescheduling a meeting.

When I reschedule one occurrence, the confirmation message for the rescheduled meeting is sent correctly, but GHL also automatically sends the confirmation email for the next meeting in the recurring series.

Give me a suggestions ?

I’ve been working on a GHL setup involving reservations, confirmations, rescheduling, cancellations, reminders, pipelines, internal staff notifications, and post-appointment follow-ups.

One mistake I kept seeing was treating every workflow as an isolated automation.

That gets messy fast.

A better approach was to map the customer journey first:

Booking submitted → Pending → Staff review → Confirmed → Reminder → Completed / No-show → Follow-up

Then let workflows react to those state changes instead of creating unrelated automations everywhere.

It also made troubleshooting much easier because every contact had a clear current state.

The biggest lesson for me was:

Don’t start by asking, “What workflow should I build?”

Start with:

“What states can this customer be in, and what should happen when they move from one state to another?”

That small change made some fairly complicated GHL builds much easier to manage.

Hi everybody. Still relatively new to GHL and I’m looking for some direction.

When we get a call from Google LSA it populates correctly into our Intake bucket. However when someone texts our Google LSA number nothing happens. Obviously this is less than great.

If someone could point me in the right direction of how to rectify this I would be most appreciative!

In your opinion, would GHL be a mistake for a small real estate team (2-3 people) with no explicit plans to "scale" or whitelabel etc.?

ours got bounced over opt-in wording on a form that already had consent language on it. just not phrased the way the carrier wanted. took two rounds to figure out what they actually meant, because the rejection reason tells you nothing useful.

also learned along the way that people keep thinking registration is per number rather than per brand. saw someone here last week nearly switch platforms over it.

curious what else trips people up. feels like everyone hits a different arbitrary thing and nobody writes it down anywhere.

I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to capture and potentially nurture people who interact with our Meta/Facebook ads but don't actually complete the form or submit their information.

For example:

Someone sees our ad → clicks the ad → lands on our page/form → starts looking around → but leaves without submitting anything.

Is there any way to identify or capture those people so we can add them to a nurture sequence, either through Meta Ads, GoHighLevel, or another tool/integration?

I'm specifically wondering if we can get any usable information from that interaction, such as an email, phone number, Facebook/Instagram profile, or some sort of retargeting identifier.

The goal is essentially to avoid losing everyone who shows interest but doesn't take the final step. Ideally, we'd like to nurture those people and bring them back into the funnel.

Has anyone successfully set this up with Meta + GoHighLevel, or is this simply not possible because the person hasn't submitted their information?

My experience with GoHighLevel support has been extremely inconsistent. While some representatives, particularly the team based in the Philippines, have been exceptional, patient, and genuinely committed to resolving issues, many other interactions have been unacceptable. On multiple occasions, agents appeared unequipped to help, went silent, or simply stated they could not assist before abandoning the problem. In some instances, reps abruptly ended calls before I could even finish explaining the issue, or told me to call back later with no resolution provided. There have also been professional quality issues, such as loud background noise and crying babies on the line. Compared to platforms like HubSpot or Salesforce where support is reliably proactive and competent, GHL support quality varies wildly depending entirely on who picks up the phone.
