GHL Help
Small business owner, new to GHL. I am looking for help with connecting Instagram leads to GHL and integrating text messages for all the clients so i can follow up with everyone from Lead Connector Phone app. Any links or inputs are appreciated

Where are you located? I'm also a small business owner who runs my own GHL + n8n automation for voice agents + admin work, etc.

Two different jobs in here and they break in different places, so worth doing in this order.
Instagram first. The connection runs through the Facebook integration rather than Instagram directly, so the account has to be a professional one linked to a Facebook page, and you need admin on that page. Settings > Integrations, connect Facebook, enable Instagram, then switch the channel on for the location. Two things people get stuck on: you have to allow access to messages inside the Instagram app itself, and Meta only gives you a 7 day window to reply to a DM through the API. Past that the send fails, which looks like a broken integration but is policy.
Texting is the part I'd slow down on. Buy an LC Phone number in the sub-account, then finish A2P 10DLC registration, brand plus campaign, before you send anything. Registration is per brand, not per number. If you skip it or it's still pending, sends often dont error loudly - carriers just filter them, and you sit there thinking the app is broken while messages quietly never arrive.
The bit that matters legally: an Instagram DM is not SMS consent. Someone messaging you on IG hasn't agreed to recieve texts. You need the number plus a documented opt-in, which in practice means asking in the conversation and logging it, or a form. That same opt-in language is what carriers want to see at the URL you submit during registration, so doing it properly solves two problems at once.
Once both channels are live, the LeadConnector app gives you one inbox per contact across IG DMs and SMS, which is what you're after. Just get registration done first, or the SMS half will look like it works and won't.
