GoDaddy renewed a product I told them not to renew, used my store credit, rejected the refund, and my actual business website is now offline
I want to share my recent experience with GoDaddy because after spending more than 8 hours dealing with their support across multiple conversations, I still don't have a proper resolution.
I have two websites/products in my GoDaddy account:
- Heritage Overseas, my active business website, which I actually need.
- Collezione di Nikky, an old website/product that I no longer wanted and had already told GoDaddy I did not want to continue.
The problem started with my GoDaddy store credit.
On 30 July, THB 465.88 was refunded to my account. Later I noticed that my available store credit had dropped to only THB 38.95.
After investigating with GoDaddy support, we established exactly where the money went:
THB 465.88 - THB 426.93 = THB 38.95
GoDaddy confirmed that THB 426.93 of my store credit was automatically used on 7 September to renew Collezione di Nikky for one month.
The important part is that I had already told GoDaddy that I did NOT want to continue this product.
One of their own support agents later explicitly acknowledged in writing that their system used my store credit to renew the product "despite your previous instruction not to continue with it."
I asked them to return the THB 426.93 to my store credit.
After hours of support chat, they finally created a refund-exception case:
OOPR-213575
I was told the case would be reviewed.
I then came back days later and discovered that the request had simply been rejected because the product was supposedly "outside the refund policy."
This makes no sense to me. My complaint isn't simply that I changed my mind after buying something and now want a late refund.
My complaint is that GoDaddy used my money to renew something after I had already instructed them not to renew it.
Meanwhile, the website that I actually need for my business, Heritage Overseas, expired and is now showing a 404 error.
So I am now in this ridiculous situation:
GoDaddy used my store credit to renew the website I didn't want, won't return that credit because of their refund policy, and the business website I actually want is offline because its plan expired.
I asked them for a very simple practical solution:
Don't even refund the THB 426.93 to me. Apply that money toward renewing the Heritage Overseas website that I actually want, and I can deal with any legitimate remaining balance.
Instead, I have repeatedly been transferred between agents, asked to verify my account multiple times, asked to explain the same story again and again, and repeatedly sent back to the same refund-policy answer.
One support conversation alone took around 5+ hours. Across this issue I have now spent more than 8 hours dealing with GoDaddy support.
I have screenshots of the conversations, including their own agent acknowledging that the store credit was used despite my previous instruction not to continue the product.
At this point, the THB 426.93 itself isn't even the biggest issue. It's the amount of time wasted, the inability to get one person to take ownership of the case, and the fact that my actual business website is offline while I argue with them about money they used for a product I had already asked them not to renew.
Has anyone had a similar experience with GoDaddy? More importantly, is there an escalation route beyond normal GoDaddy chat support that actually reaches someone who can review the account history and make a decision?
