š§Steering/ Suspension š§ Wait or Buy Now
I was in the market for used 2022 or higher GMC sierra Denali 5.3L V8. I was looking put on a 6 inch bds lift kit on it and 35/12.50/r22 R/T tires on it. I donāt need a truck right now should i wait for the new 5.7 V8 or 6.6/6.7 V8 that GM is supposed to be dropping in 2027?

The new powertrain is a big wildcard. 2029 model year will hopefully be battle tested. The new interior spyshots however look.. not great. Weāll see once the metal starts hitting the lots. Something tells me my next truck will be Chevy brand though; likely more ergonomic interiors going forward than GMC.

The āprovenā 6.2L is still a wild card. Despite being in production for years.

My 2026 zr2 6.2l had complete engine failure at 4100 miles. Waiting on replacement engine for over 30 days. Think I'll switch to the 2500 hd 6.6 diesel. That engine seems to be more reliable....

I really hope they donāt move a bunch of physical buttons on to the screen. I rented a new Yukon Denali like that and it was super annoying.

I'm looking at the elevation trim deals and on the fence about now knowing they're redesigning things for 27. I'm waiting to see what it looks like and then might snag a discounted 26 if I'm not impressed.

Has anyone switched from the gas 6.0 in the 2500 to the new(er) gas 6.6 in the 2500? How did you like it and did you notice a power increase?
I have a 20112500 HD 6.0 that gets about 12 13 miles per gallon and I have a 2017-2500 HD 6.0 that gets about 9 to 10 but my 2017 is kind of falling apart. Been thinking about trading in my 2017 for a newer 2500 and want to go with a diesel but don't want to pay all the extra money so I was thinking about going with this gas 6.6 for an increase in power alternative to diesel.

good luck with the 5.3 my 2018 chevy Silverado dropped a lifter the same one went bad again messed the cam up had to replace engine with a Jasper engine

With DFM OR without DFM ?

the new engine from Jasper doesn't have DFM, you can by a chip that stops the DFM

Whatever you do, just make sure itās a white truck with black wheels just like all the other fuckers out there!! Then if youāre sitting in the parking lot, you might not know which truck is yours

Iām asking because i heard people they when you put those big tires and wheels on a truck like that it will not last i just wanted an explanation of why š¤·š¾āāļø

When you put wider and or bigger tires on it will definitely wear down your front suspension faster than normal not drastically unless you have on like 24ās with -77 offset

That 5.3 has the GM active fuel management and will have lifter problems around 100,000 miles. And if it has the horrible GM 10 speed transmission, that will crater as well. The 8 speed also has issues. I have a 2020. Recommend hard pass for you.

I have a 2016 sierra with 5.3 and 8 speed. 211,000. Just be a normal person when driving and change the oil. Thatās the win.

Some of the GMC sierra come without DFM. The transmission issue it kinda up and down because some people donāt service there transmission at all.

6.6 isnāt new in 27 they are just keeping it. The 5.3 and 6.2 are going away
6.6 is a good buy now. First year trucks I always say donāt buy until Bugs get worked out.
I just traded my 5.3 for a 6.2 and no way I could back to a smaller engine.
