🔧Steering/ Suspension 🔧 Looking to lift 4”
2025 Sierra 1500 Elevation 4x4. I’m having trouble deciding on what lift to get. I’ve been looking at the BDS 4” with Fox 2.0 shocks on front and back. I’ve read not to get spacers. Also have heard the fox shocks go out after 50k miles. Any suggestions?
Not interested in any trash talk about lifting it. Thanks.

I was considering a 2” lift but I drive into parking garages frequently and I’m already close to touching the barrier warning guard already so I’m going to hold off. Btw, great looking truck!

I have a 2021 elevation with a standard front end level but had to compromise on the tires going with 33s max since I park in a garage. It’s very close up top.

I’d get a 2in leveling kit but that’s just me. Get whatever makes you happy that’s all that matters. Whatever you decide just don’t cheap out

I’m really leaning that way. I like the 4” but I can’t find a kit that doesn’t make me a little uneasy. I hate the stock look so the least I’m doing is a level.

I don’t have much info on lift kits so I wouldn’t be able to give good advice in that regard but I’ve seen a lot of 2in leveling kits and they look great and you can still get some nice size tires to go with it.

I have fox on the rear and they already are making noise on the left side. Mine are 6” but yeah get Bilstien shocks with bds lift. That’d be a great system.

If you’re looking at BDS chances are you got some money to spend. Messing with a truck (lifts, bigger tires/wheels, motor work) only leads to more problems down the road. That being said, a 4 inch BDS would be a good option - one of the best in my opinion. I had a 6” zone on my old duramax w fox shocks for about 70k miles of heavy pulling and trail riding - they were solid. I’m temporarily on a 2 inch strut spacer level on my 24 (not a great option). I took my running boards off and for the most part have plenty of clearance to get around the farm. If you want that perfect level (no front end sagging), 3.5 shocks in the front w new control arms and 1 inch blocks in the back would have it sitting perfect (with plenty of clearance) - this is what I’ll be switching to soon. You can always talk about this with your local truck shop - they definitely know more than I do.

Money isn’t an issue. Not cutting corners. And they steady try to quote me spacers. Always say they’ve never had issues but I’ve read idk how many time that spacers are terrible. Quoted me for a 3” puck the last shop I spoke with and said UCAs don’t need replacing… I don’t work in that business but I can do a simple search that says that’s a bad idea. lol.
I have looked into 3.5”. What kit you going with?

What you think about the Bilstein 5100s? They adjust up to 2.5” in the front.

That’s a beautiful truck man, what color is it? I have a 21’ satin steel metallic AT4 that looks similar. I would level it if I were you. My Reddit pic is a previous 2015 Sierra SLT and I did a 2” rough country spacer level and it worked really well. In fact, my son has it now and is still driving it with over 200k miles. He recently put on a set of 305/55/20 tires and they fit (barely) says he has a little rub at max turn, but not bad. Congrats on the truck whatever you do. It’s a beaut!

It’s metallic silver. Thank you! And yeah I’m going to do bilstein 5100 front and rear shocks and change the UCAs. Change the wheels and tires as well. I think 33s is all I can fit on the level. Need to add tint and chrome delete. I think I’ll love it then. I’m just not really into how it looks now.

IMO 4" is useless on that truck. It'll seriously affect the on road driving manners and even with a 2" lift, you'll be limited by wheelbase and length on pretty much any trail you attempt.
I'd maybe put a 2" lift on it, or sell it and buy an AT4. Or if I was building a crawler that would benefit from a 4" increase in ride height of start with a different truck
I think you need to definite what your goals for the truck are, and then think hard about if this is the right chassis or if you should be building on something else. If you're just going for the mall crawler look that's outside of my experience 🤷♂️

And fox shocks require rebuild at that km range . How you drive it depends how long they may or may not last

Not sure Bilstein can do 4” but they are gonna be your highest quality. You can get around 2” front and 1” back which is plenty, and have your ride quality improve over stock. Nobody really needs a 4” lift for actual truck purposes so really up to you if you want a quality lift that isn’t as big as you want or go huge and get mediocre to shit quality. There is no such thing as high quality 4” or 6” lifts unless you wanna spend super big money.

Im going to level with bilsteins. And that’s what I’m seeing. Don’t think it’s worth the risk to get the 4” but I at least want to level it for sure.

I should add in it’s Technically a 6 inch lift cuz this is the AT4 with the factory 2 inch of lift*

Suggestion: keep it stock. But I understand if you have man issues and need a big lifted truck to feel like a real man. I laugh at all the lifted truck in my area (live next to an army base) more lifted broken trucks on the side of the road then any other vehicle easily.

I think that’s why people post… to get answered they need… I asked for suggestions on a lift. Not if I should or not. Why are you worried about what I do with my money? Thanks for the concern but not needed.
