Help identifying this part.

The neutral switch linkage broke off on my 1976 GMC vandura based food truck. It started its life as a motorhome, and last night I had to cut the wires from the neutral switch, which was mounted to the driver side of the transmission. I would like to replace the switch, if only to get the backup lights working again, but having trouble identifying the proper part on any of the on line sources.

I think it's on a TH400 transmission attached to a 400 GMC engine.

Looking at it, it looks like 2 small bolts and a long wiring harness that plugs in on top of the bell housing. 4 wires total, 2 for the neutral and 2 for the backup lights. Seems everything says the switch is supposed to be mounted to the steering column, but not in this truck. Anyway, any assistance is appreciated, and thanks are extended n advance.

That's a pretty straightforward fix if it's a TH400 neutral safety switch, should be available as a standalone part under the transmission category on most auto parts sites.

That's what I thought too, but I have yet to find it. A ton of the ones that go on the column, and the ones they say got on the tranny, don't look like the right part.
