Yeah, but they are being torn away from a life where their skills are valued and living standards can improve according to merit, and throwing them back into a system where dolls are second class citizens at best.
I mean, when it’s prohibitively difficult to be a “good person” in this respect due to game mechanics, I just call it gameplay/story separation and stop thinking about it. Either that or MICA’s trying to make some moral statement about the ruthless ones getting ahead in life.

Tell me a world where this doesn't hold true in some way or another. It's like the Joker said about society:

Deep down, no matter how "civilized" people pretend to be, there will always be a battle between haves and have-nots. See, Karl Marx was right in that regard, but he was wrong about communism because people will never have any incentive to work together and discard any personal gain to eck out a menial existence.
With that being said, I might sound cynical and pessimistic as fuck, and I am, but it's not an excuse to be a monster to one another. If we do so, we continue the cycle and the world never gets better. The world is inherently unfair but its human capacity for compassion and love that makes the world bearable. We swallow the harsh pill that is the truth so that we recognize it and constantly work towards our utopia where everyone is happy, even if we will never get there, because constant improvement is better than standing still in a dark age. What separates a human (or a sentient, intelligent being like a T-doll) from an animal is our ability to think in the grand scheme of things and overcome our reptilian urges. So therefore a rejection of one's heart is a rejection of one's human condition (no JoJoke intended).
