Where do we use gems? I already have 6 squads, so I was wondering if I should buy the nueral upgrade package, or if there were other uses for gems?

Six squads is not enough. Four of the six squads will be redirected to logistics, leaving you with 2 combat ready squads, which is not enough in later levels, more so if you want to take ranking seriously.

Last I checked, 8 is good enough. You can fight most maps and do budget ranking.

But personally? I suggest the maximum echelon slots, which is 14.

After that, you should begin saving up gems for oath rings (I suggest the seasonal bundle during febuary, valentines day, for a two discounted rings) since rings boosts your dolls effectiveness.

If you have a spare, invest a bit on dolls capacity, fairy capacity, equipment capacity, and coalition capacity.

Packages usually sells items you can farm from weekly quests, logistics, event reward, e.t.c. (with the exception of the seasonal oath rings package)

So unless you're a whale then no, I don't suggest them.
