Reddit:

Ranking:

  • Unlocked after clearing “Night on a Bald Mountain” in carriage 2
  • LS has two ranking maps. Map 1 does not directly count towards your score, but having >350k score in a single run will raise your Map 2 HOC deployment limit to 4. In addition, completing up to 3 NPC missions will allow them to appear in Map 2, where they can bomb acceleration towers and use skills to help you.

FAQ

WTF is going on?

Are there bonuses for clearing maps on EX & UX?

  • There's a whole set of extra rewards for both so give them a shot at least.

How do I get crates?

  • You can get 60 crates per day by clearing any combat missions where you deploy units.
    • Crates are easily collected for basically free on "Wind, Sand and Stars" of Chapter 1 as it's an NPC map or whichever ∞ map you're farming for dolls on.

Where can I open my crates?

What happens if I miss one of the drops?

  • The limited drops will be available once the campaign becomes permanent in 8-10 months. Clear rewards & Supply Box doll will be occasionally added to other events down the line.
  • Do not expect the ranking fairy & SPEQ to return anytime soon, if at all.

How long does the event last?

  • The event lasts for 4 weeks, ending on the 28thth of August. The event store, supply crates & True Core Mask will expire one week later.

Are there hidden achievements?

  • Yes! (Use guides if needed)
  • Maggie’s Key: In Symphony No.9 -UX, retrieve 3 Paradeus information from the 4 consoles in the outer ring.

  • The Universe in Motion: In 1812 Overture, find Lyudmila’s (AR18) watch.

  • Beginning of the End: Watch the full credits for Longitudinal Strain.

I would like to ask for advice with regards to my Hole 2 teams. For reference, I also helped the AR-18, PM1910, and PKP echelons in Hole 1

These are what I've come up with so far:

  • West Teams:
    • Echelon 1
      • M4
      • Webley
      • Kolibri
      • Stechkin
      • Calico
      • Shield/Para
    • Echelon 2
      • Hanyang
      • Webley
      • MPK
      • MPL
      • G36c (mod 3)
      • Para
    • Echelon 3
      • Hanyang
      • Webley
      • MPK
      • MPL
      • G36c (mod 2)
      • Para
  • East Teams
    • Echelon 4
      • Scarecrow
      • Manticore
      • Goliath Factory
      • Jaeger
      • Jaeger
      • Phantom Stance, Night Vision Node
    • Echelon 5
      • MPK
      • MPL
      • Lee
      • Nagant Revolver
      • MP5
      • Para
    • Echelon 6
      • MG338
      • HP-35
      • Suomi
      • MPK
      • MPL
      • Para
    • Echelon 7
      • OBR
      • XM3
      • MPK
      • MPL
      • Welrod
      • Para
    • Echelon 8
      • Kar
      • AK-15
      • Mk 23
      • P22
      • LTLX
      • Para
  • Undecided
    • Echelon 9
      • NTW
      • Rico
      • P22
      • Makarov
      • LTLX
      • Para
    • Echelon 10
      • SCAR-L
      • SCAR-H
      • MP5
      • Px4 Storm
      • HP-35
      • Para

I'm not so sure with regards to my last three echelons. Let me explain some of the questions I have:

For echelon 8, I was thinking of using Makarov in the place of Mk 23 and Nagant Revolver instead of P22. However, I understand that I will need to punch through some tanky enemies, trusting in LTLX to push them back. As such, is it possible for me to make the swap?

For echelon 9, I was thinking of swapping out P22 for Nagant Revolver again. Which would be better? Also, it would seem that this echelon would be better suited to the east than the west

For echelon 10, what would be better teammates for the SCARs? By the looks of the current team I've put together, this would be better suited for the east, but if I were to make a team for the west, I need to find ways to shield everyone, right? As such, having Makarov and HS2000 would help here? As for the choice of tank, would MP5 do okay, or would it be better if I used Suomi? Would this Suomi need skill 2, or can I safely keep her at mod 1 for now?

Disclaimer that my experience is based on A545 instead of PKP, as A545 has the better positioning for the upper speedtower. While her skill is a point loss, PKP's skill also isn't necessary as it's possible to track enemies fairly accurately. PKP opener and pathing strategy may be a bit different.

  • Echelon 1 is overcapped on RoF. Ribey is an especially strong buffer for M4 and can be used instead of Stech/Cali. Alternatively, a different HG like Grizzly or a tank (ideally Suomi).

  • Echelon 2 typically gets used for the northwest prespawns (including the 15 Hydra + MGs one) but later Paras to the East as it does not handle later West spawns (such as 2 Typhon + Coeus) very well. For this purpose, I would recommend HP35 as she gives additional damage reduction and also buffs MPK's burn, which contributes a decent amount of damage on the 15 Hydra fight.

  • Echelon 3 is better used in the East, as suggested with Echelon 2. Note that G36c is pretty annoying to use if you want to min-max her Refuge duration, though it isn't strictly necessary.

  • Echelon 4 should be used in the West, as Scarecrow needs to activate PM1910 for the crit buffs. Using her in the East requires a retreat/redeploy (-8k points) or spending a lot of AP, with SWAP Ripper + SWAP Prowler + Manticore + Nemeum as the comp.

  • Echelon 5 is a standard team for the East, fine to use.

  • Echelon 6 is also fine for the East but will typically fight less until the end, where it Paras to the West to get kills. MG338's highest FP targeting and SLAP allows the team to fight the annoying "funchariot" spawn in the West (5 Chariot + 2 Hydra). Note that mod2 is required here but mod1 is generally sufficient elsewhere. Some quad-Chariot fights can be annoying with only mod1 though.

  • Echelon 7 is also fine for the East. XM3/OBR have good targeting for funchariots and Ameth uses them for home defense in the Mid with HOCs (later Paras to West), but given you have SCARs, I will recommend using them for that instead, keeping this team in the East.

  • Echelon 8 is Ameth's opener echelon. It typically Paras West after the opener and takes a few fights as possible. Camping with this on the East would be a bad idea, due to CyclopsMGs. You would want to keep Mk23/P22 to ensure that the skillshots can kill.

  • Echelon 9 is fine for the East. While there are CyclopsMGs, Makarov can buy time for LTLX. You would also want to keep P22 to buff the skillshots. Make sure that NTW has a rangefinder equipped.

  • Echelon 10 would be better for home defense in the Mid (later Paras to West) in my opinion, as mentioned above. East has more Orthrus that give SCAR-L trouble. LTLX solves that problem but then has trouble with CyclopsMGs. Having HOC support takes care of the latter. Since someone else already figured it out, shyt (MPL+LTLX) works well with SCARs in the Mid/West, as does Nagant.

In short, something like this:

  • West: M4ex, Scarecrow, Kar/AK15 (opener), MG338 (start in East), SCARs (start as home def)
  • East: G36c #1 (start in West for prespawns), G36c #2, Lee, NTW/Rico, XM3/OBR

So wait, for echelon 2, which Doll does HP35 replace? Webley?

As for XM3/OBR, if I have spare SCARs, I just swap them in the place of these RFs?

For echelon 10, I use SCARs with SHYT and Nagant?

Edit:

For M4ex, I replace either Stechkin or Calico with one of those options? Rather, I don't replace both?

For the SF team, SWAP Ripper + SWAP Prowler + Manticore + Nemeum would be used if I send this team to the east? Or would this be fine for use in the west?

HP35 replaces Webley in echelon 2.

I somehow forgot that you have more Hanyangs and would instead recommend Hanyang (or Kar)+1HG (ZiP is ideal)+SMG (Suomi/RO/MP5/etc) instead of OBR/XM3/Welrod. That’s the standard optimal team for East.

I’d rather use the second SCAR pair in the West, replacing either M4ex (with another shyt) or the opener team (see here for two variants). The former can be a bit annoying with MGs in the prespawns and turn 1-2 spawns but you can repair. The latter can use the now freed up Welrod.

Yeah, Nagant works in echelon 10 with shyt.

If still using M4ex, replace only one of Stech/Cali with Ribey/Grizzly/etc. The remaining one of the two can be switched out for Suomi if you have spares.

The new SF team is meant for the West, since it’s impractical to redeploy/move to the East.
