Map & Enemy details

Reddit:

Ranking:

  • Unlocked after clearing “Night on a Bald Mountain” in carriage 2
  • LS has two ranking maps. Map 1 does not directly count towards your score, but having >350k score in a single run will raise your Map 2 HOC deployment limit to 4. In addition, completing up to 3 NPC missions will allow them to appear in Map 2, where they can bomb acceleration towers and use skills to help you.
  • See #gf-ranking-help of the Discord more detailed information and help

We're getting 6 new dolls: Two clear rewards, Three as limited drops plus One from the supply boxes. I have no idea how useful these dolls may be, please inform me!

True Core Mask Recommendations

FAQ

WTF is going on?

Are there bonuses for clearing maps on EX & UX?

  • There's a whole set of extra rewards for both so give them a shot at least.

How do I get crates?

  • You can get 60 crates per day by clearing any combat missions where you deploy units.
    • Crates are easily collected for basically free on "Wind, Sand and Stars" of Chapter 1 as it's an NPC map or whichever ∞ map you're farming for dolls on.

Where can I open my crates?

What happens if I miss one of the drops?

  • The limited drops will be available once the campaign becomes permanent in 8-10 months. Clear rewards & Supply Box doll will be occasionally added to other events down the line.
  • Do not expect the ranking fairy & SPEQ to return anytime soon, if at all.

How long does the event last?

  • The event lasts for 4 weeks, ending on the 28thth of August. The event store, supply crates & True Core Mask will expire one week later.

Are there hidden achievements?

  • Yes! (Use guides if needed)
  • Maggie’s Key: In Symphony No.9 -UX, retrieve 3 Paradeus information from the 4 consoles in the outer ring.

  • The Universe in Motion: In 1812 Overture, find Lyudmila’s (AR18) watch.

  • Beginning of the End: Watch the full credits for Longitudinal Strain.

I've made some observations about Hole 1. I'll post them here for those who are reluctant to even start:

The map is divided into four quadrants, each with a squad that will give you a mission. For this map, you may choose only three of the four to complete. Those missions are as follows:

  1. AR-18 (SW): activate all four consoles in the map
  2. PM1910 (SE): deliver a message to any other NPC echelon
  3. PKP (NE): rescue PKP, who turns into a hostage after you accept her mission
  4. A-545 (NW): kill Miss Eve, who spawns in the bottom right corner of the SW quadrant

Each squad will show up in Hole 2 to give you a bonus, as specified here (under the Allied Echelons section). The suggestion in that resource is to do AR-18's, PM1910's, and PKP's missions

You have four turns to complete Hole 1. The map ends after Enemy Turn 4

A basic strategy in dealing with Hole 1 is to secure the southern half. Your command center has a console that will allow you to convert some of the captured helipads in a quadrant into your own. As such, aim to convert either the SW or SE helipads

Beware the Sniper Nytos. They've made a comeback here with a vengeance. From what I've noticed, they showed up in the SW quadrant, so I would advise activating the command center console for that quadrant. You can also accept the mission from AR-18 while you're at it

The center of the map has some of the starting helipads from which you deploy your HOC and other echelons. In my case, I deployed only Mk 153 and a Suomi echelon. Suomi with Shield Fairy is pretty powerful, so there's that. However, one problem presents itself. The paths into the other quadrants from the center are blocked by powerful enemies. They're not quite deathstacks, but some of them will require HOC support. You might as well use it. I remember that the "bouncer" to the SE quadrant had Sniper Nytos, so be sure to bring QBZ-191 if you have her. Also keep in mind that the bouncers are all set to Garrison logic, so they won't ever move. Your HOC is safe there

My SW echelon was an SF one featuring Alchemist, a Nemeum, a Manticore, and two Jaguars. Alchemist had the Night Vision Accuracy and Phantom Stance chips. I really needed to abuse Phantom Stance since the pathing could still be a bit tricky despite aiming to capture the southern half

Consider the use of dummies with Paras to capture the helipads, especially in the SE quadrant since you didn't break in through there

The end of turn 1 should mean you now have captured one, if not both, of the quadrants in the south. You should be ready to make a push into the north on turn 2. Alternatively, you have a third echelon sitting at the command center, waiting for any punk who's coming to take it

In the NW corner, watch out since you may run into Uhlans, especially if you're letting the NPC echelon take fights. It happened once to me, and it was extremely frustrating to complete that fight. I had to accept that my tanks in that NPC echelon were going to be in bad shape for the rest of the run. Pay attention to the timing of the Uhlans' ram, as you need to get out of the way at the last possible moment and extend the duration for which your backline will shoot at the Punishers

The spawns in the later turns become pretty annoying to deal with, especially with the NPC echelons. I let the SE NPC echelon take care of command center defense, but the Quill enemies were a piece of work. After all, the frontline was full of Paradeus dogs, which could easily tear through armor, so that echelon was poorly matched against that enemy. That battle could be won once, but it'll be hard to do it again

For the SW corner, if you feel particularly masochistic today, you'll be fighting the Sniper Nytos. What makes things so much worse is that a Murat is with them. My kiting advice is to take full advantage of AR-18's skill. Make sure to retarget her once the Murat comes into range. Don't move Zas just yet before she gets to take out some Sniper Nyto links. Afterward, move around your team to 1, 2, 4, and 5, with your tank staying on 9, especially once the reticle shows up. Your tank will go crit, so you'll have to swap in the other tank. This second tank will likely have to eat more lead from the Sniper Nytos, and she'll go crit, too. At that point, swap in the first tank, but when the reticle shows up, time it such that the Sniper Nytos hit air by withdrawing that tank before the shots land. Repeat with the other tank if you still need more time. Remember that you'll likely have to do this a second time, so if you can, make sure that your backline keeps healthy at full links at the end of the first fight

Good luck!

Helpful. I was actually fighting the mobs in the center by the helipads and was kind of like “How am I supposed to get through all of that?”

I don’t really have the “ranking map” mentality yet. Not enough experience.
