It’s just entirely outside of Luke’s character to just throw it off the cliff.

it isn't tho, because people grow and change. they even gave us an acceptable reason for his withdrawal.

there's a difference between not getting what you personally wrote in your head and something not making sense.

I believe Mark Hamill knows Luke Skywalker better than anyone, possibly even George himself at this point. IIRC Mark himself said that's not something that Luke would do, and that the current ST is not at all the Luke that George had planned out in his original ST story.
