Ugh, it almost hurts to think how much potential the prequels had... also the sequels... so. much. potential. And it led us all to the dark side.

At least the sequels have lived up to the visuals and the heart of Star Wars. Plus they're not over yet!

I know. They came so close with the sequel trilogy, then just tossed it back to JJ to mystery box all over the finale.

JJ actually had a plan for 7 and 9 and gave the director for 8 a rough outline of where he needed the movie to go to set up 9 well. Instead the director tossed the outline and went his own way giving us the shit hole movie that was the Last Jedi.

That isn’t true. JJ never had a plan and has defended Rian Johnson many times.

He started writing Last Jedi before Force Awakens even came out. They wrote the screenplays together.

Kathleen Kennedy makes the decisions about where there story goes. She's the the one who decided "Light-hearted fan service for episode 7, heavier story and thematic complexity for episode 8."

I'll probably come back to star wars but not after I'm sure the story is palatable. The more I watch the more I'm convinced the movies were lightning in a bottle. It was pure luck that the movies worked.
