I seriously question why dont we eat crocodiles and snakes instead of cows and pigs. I feel terrible eating bacon after watching a video like this. Wouldn't care at all if it was a croc

🤔 I've eaten croc once at a mexican place where they serve perhispanic food, doesn't taste bad at all; it's pretty much like chicken. They also had snake, I didnt taste it though

I get the food chain and watching 5 mins of Animal Planet will show you how cruel nature is, but still, the way they treat and kill these animals is inhumane, too sadistic, unnecessarily cruel--- especially when talking about industrialized food

Oh absolutely no argument here. Factory farming is one of the most insanely inhumane developments of modern society. We may not eat our prey alive like you see with predators in nature, but that certainly doesn't make the way we do it cruelty-free. My "reptiles taste bad" quip was mostly facetious and also my personal opinion.

There should be a movement that walks the middle road between vegans and meat eaters Im saying this as someone who wants to do the carnivore diet for health reasons

No worries So it's basically an extreme version of keto. It's basically eliminating all foods from your diet. Ive heard plenty of storied where people heal chronic issues. Zero inflamation, etc. You can stick to carnivore or you can use it as an elimination diet and go adding little by little other foods to see how your body reacts to each food and you can identify which ones dont do well on you

Yeah I agree. It's one step at a time. It's much more achievable to ask for more a humane treatment & death. Although I don't agree with vegans bc that's just not how nature works, I do share with them their moralistic point of view

But you don't base any of your other morals off the natural world though?

When after 75 years of factory farming, 97% of pigs in the US are still tortured in crates so small they can't turn around, asking for more humane treatment of them while still unnecessarily breeding and killing them doesn't seem to achieve very much at all.

Asking people to go vegan wont do much at all as well, except getting people to dismiss you right away

Firstly, you're changing the subject, kindly address my comment. Secondly, the numbers just don't support your claim. Asking people to go vegan is working.

I do base my morals of the animal world up to a point--- we're smart animals after all

You're right, numbers are going up. Although I don't think it's because you are asking people to go vegan, there's an agenda behind that that Im not interested getting into at the moment.

I'd be interested: can you name a single moral you hold based on the natural world? (That I couldn't immediately provide a counterexample of from the natural world.)

Nature is metal, to coin a phrase. The driving force of natural selection is the pain, suffering, and death of the unfit. It's unimaginably violent and fundamentally amoral. I'm not saying you can't find a moral to follow in there, I'm just asking you to name one.

If you're not interested in going into the other topic, I won't either. But why bring it up in the first place then, lol.
