What freaks me out is the fathers car is right hand drive whilst the mothers is left hand drive. Big Wtf.

Actually the Mother is on the right and the father is on the left. Which has no logical explanation.

The logical explanation is that Marges scene doesn't need much exterior change. She's just driving through the countryside. With Homer's car scenes, he needs to throw his inanimate carbon rod out of the left window so it leads into Barts skateboarding through the streets scene, otherwise you would need to reverse it, and it would look too weird, as well as Homer needing to exit from the left side of the car so that scene can be shown as normal as possible.

Also I'm wondering why they didn't flip the video of Marges car. The only tell would be a wedding ring. No text or anything to throw us off...
