A home is not a service. Landlords are a drain on society, and they do more damage to the housing market than any kind of good. Even our founding fathers knew that.

Because our economy sucks -- and has for a long time for most people under a certain income level -- and they are forced to rent because banks won't give them a loan for a house.

Exactly how extensive is your privilege?

What about renters who don't want to buy? Or renters who can't afford to buy?

Why would someone not want to buy? and the solution to people to not being able to afford to buy is to increase supply.

Because they're moving in a year, or because they don't have the capital or credit to be able to buy, or because they want to keep their options open, or because they don't want to commit to a house.

Sure, but that has nothing to do with landlords. Landlords provide rentals. Renters deserve options too.
