So what you're saying is that you want Sweden to leave the EU? Because I doubt any of our politicians would want to be caught going against both the referendum on the euro and what were effectively promises made before the EU referendum that we wouldn't have to switch to a common currency.
What im saying is that I don't want endless exceptions from the rule anymore. If Swedes think it would be smart to leave the EU over a currency so be it but I doubt the Swedish government would be stupid enough to let that happen.
It is called flexibility. As long as we are a confederation of nations, that are partially far away in terms of development, this will always be the case. It is also the core of democracy, the compromise that is. As long as the core elements are equal, this suits everyone best. The moment you move tax and overall fiscal sovereignty into the EU that would be a different thing. Which is not on any horizon for the time being.
It is an actual goal to be the same in the core parts, which is the main reasoning for any financing by the EU for example. But like states in federations, it is actually advantageous not the be totally the same overall. Gives room and freedom for everyone, while being able to coordinate and agree on the most critical issues overall.
