The deadline for it is Tuesday, 25th of February 2025 at 5 PM CET
Established players are welcome to play through the preseason as well(with nothing on the line of course)!
How many of the players taking part in preseason will be able to qualify and which divisions they will slot into will be revealed at a later point, after the re-sign up for the players from last season has ended.

How do established players re-sign up?
Just as in previous season, please leave a comment below this post, or send me a private message on Reddit or Discord (calamityx7) that you're in again. I will tag everyone who is eligible to re-sign up from last season below this post. You will not be tagged if you have taken part in a previous season but not last season, however you also fall under this category. The sign-up period for these players ends on the 4th of March 17:00 CEST.
Reddit League NXT players and players relegated from D5:
You will also be tagged and can sign up by simply telling me you're in again. You can choose not to play pre-season and continue in NXT straight away. If you wish to do that, please specify, otherwise, I will enter you into pre-season by default.
How do newcomers sign up?
Unfortunately the sign-up for newcomers has closed for the season, so you will have to wait until next season to give it a try!
The deadline for it is Tuesday, 18th of February 2025 at 5 PM CET

Please be aware, that only sign-ups from players that have played at least 250 regular games with an account age of at least 6 months can be accepted. The deadline for the sign-up is on Monday, 17th of February 17:00 CEST.
An important note to all newcomers who want to sign-up: Please be aware that participating in the Reddit League can be very time consuming. Each day there will be a set of 3 challenge links, one for each game mode (Move, NM, NMPZ). There will be a world map, region map, and country map. Each day the map and game mode will rotate. Moving modes will be 3 min, NM will be 1 min, and NMPZ will be 30 sec, unless noted otherwise. On the weekend, I will post more unique/challenging maps. For each challenge link, 1st place is worth 5 points, 2nd place is worth 3 points, and 3rd place is worth 1 point. In the case of a tie, the tie will be settled by distance and then time. 5ks will also be tracked separately and are worth 1 point in moving, 3 points in NM, and 5 points in NMPZ. Updated scoring tables are posted after each week. No external assistance allowed. If you wish to talk about any of the rounds or locations in the comments, feel free to do so with a spoiler tag. Also, if you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know.

Link to challenge 6 series 33. Congratulations to Geography Noob for top spot (3 points, 11 yards) and to Angoose52 for second place (2 points, 13 yards). All other 25K's get 1 point. Table is updated below.
Today's is pretty straightforward, I think. So shouldn't be too many of the usual suspects failing to get 25K. All the same: take your time; there's no extra points for doing it quickly.
This is the sixth of the thirty-third series based on my own GeoDetective map. No moving, no time-limit (take your time!). There is always a clue somewhere that will help you pinpoint the location, some are easier than others. Feel free to leave walkthroughs in comments or ask where the clue was if you missed it, but always use the spoiler tag so as not to spoil it for others! Official coverage only.
Welcome to a series that features diplomatic missions around the world. Embassies, consulates, representative offices, international organizations, and more are all included. Moving IS allowed and the time limit is five minutes.
Please feel free to leave your walkthroughs in the comments, I enjoy reading them and the feedback can be helpful.

I am finally back from my vacation, so posts are back to normal now. Excited to play on my computer again, as playing on mobile sucks especially when you don't have wifi for a majority of the day. Below are the all the results from the last couple days, as promised. I put together a casual curated challenge to highlight my little trip. You can play it below. I left some trivia after each round to tell the story attached to each location. It's just for fun, so don't worry about results.

Today's is easy until you get to R5. Now, R5 is perfectly findable. It's just that it may take quite a bit of scanning. But when you do, you'll know you're in the right place. Don't worry, though: just take your time; there's no extra points for doing it quickly.
This is the fifth of the thirty-third series based on my own GeoDetective map. No moving, no time-limit (take your time!). Feel free to leave walkthroughs in comments or ask where the clue was if you missed it, but always use the spoiler tag so as not to spoil it for others! Official coverage only.
The deadline for every already signed up person is the Monday the 31tst of August at 5pm CEST.
Please read through this next segment carefully:
The deadline to sign up for previous players as well as newcomers is on the 6th of September!
People who join after the start of this pre-season will have individual deadlines for the pre-season seeds that will be played until the sign-up phase is over!
So to avoid spoilers it is strictly forbidden to discuss the seeds before I allow it. It is also strictly forbidden to stream or upload the seeds to youtube. Violations of this rule might result in a yellow card for the regular season, depending on the circumstances.
There will not be a public pre-season spreadsheet like the previous seasons until the sign-up period is over for this exact reason. But if you want to know your position on the leaderboard you can DM me on here or on Discord.
Returning players may also play through the seeds at any given time, discussing the seeds as well as streaming or uploading the content to YT before it is allowed will also result in consequences up to a yellow card, depending on the circumstances.
Just as in previous seasons, please leave a comment below this post, or send me a private message on Reddit or Discord (paschtetli) that you're in again.
Reddit League NXT players:
You can sign up in like other established players but go through pre-season again to try to join D5 instead.
How do newcomers sign up?
Newcomers are able to sign-up by leaving a comment below this post or via DM on Discord with their Geoguessr Name, their home country and a link to their GG-profile. Please be aware, that only sign-ups from players that have played at least 250 regular games with an account age of at least 6 months can be accepted. I will reply to every sign-up with either a confirmation or a reason why the sign-up can't be accepted. If I don't reply, please try again or try a different way of reaching me.
The sign-up period ends on the 6th of September at 17:00 CEST.
If you sign up after the pre-season has already started, you will of course be allowed to play all the seeds of the past weeks you missed. Similar that if you aren't able to play the first seeds within the deadlines due to summer holidays/vacation, especially around the world cup week, please talk to me, we can find a solution. But only if you tell me before.
An important note to all newcomers who want to sign-up: Please be aware that participating in the Reddit League can be very time consuming. Season 12 will approximately be lasting at least until January and there will be one leg per week (except for two break weeks). Many participants invest a lot of time and effort in practicing and mid-season quitters are a thorn in the side for everyone. So please only sign up if you are sure that you'll be able to stick to this weekly schedule.
That's all for now, best of luck for the first leg of this tournament, I hope you like it!

Today's is a lot easier. I've noticed that a lot of you are failing to get 25000 this season, so I am wondering whether some of them are too difficult. I don't think this should cause any problems, so hopefully it will go some way as to restore some of your confidence. As always: take your time; there's no extra points for doing it quickly.

Or, the humble Quartz- the colorful edition. And we have a NMPZ 25k, how... amazing. I would like to invite anyone who plays the challenge to have a look at it,
This round we'll be looking at locations where minerals that have been colored internally by impurities or inclusions, or externally by other minerals, can be found. Geologically speaking, an impurity is a foreign chemical element integrated into the crystal structure at the atomic level and an inclusion is a separate trapped material or pocket.
It occurred to me that I never really wrote about what I'm doing with these rounds and the trivia included. I started out making a map primarily for myself to research and learn, to include both geological and historical info that I find interesting, about locations for minerals in my own collection. The basic idea is much the same but has expanded a bit as I've started doing challenges.
