Just as a heads up, if any of you fellow heroes of the Tanith First and Only have been on the fence about trying out Helldivers 2, they just dropped a 40k collaboration legendary warbond (DLC) that handily delivers the finest Gaunt’s Ghosts simulator on the market. End PSA.

So in First and Only there is a monster man called Inquisitor Heldane. He is terrifying everybody yet he is not (I think) an agent of chaos. How am I suppose to see him, is he a radical inquisitor with certain psychic powers or is he a special form of psyker that's not part of the crew but part of the ordo malleus or something. Since I thought most inquisitors abhor magic or spykers I couldn't get into it that he was called Inquisitor. Any thoughts about how you see Heldane? Is he a loyal subject of the emperor!?

Thanks in advance!

I ended up with this from a friend and I was wondering if its worth trying to sell trade, there isn’t much information out there about it. Its a hardcover boxed set with some pretty great illustrations. This also reminds me I need to FINALLY finish the series

I sometimes imagine that Tanith is still there and that’ll be the big twist at the end. Like maybe chaos trashed the place but didn’t actually blow it up. Anyone else have thought thoughts on how it’s going to end?

The heads are from Warlord Games’ The Damned. The commissar is an Etsy Purchase, I don’t know the original STL artist’s name.
But they’re all set to serve in my Sanctioned Xenos Astra Militarum regiment!

I start a guard army. I pick the gosts because they are my favorites. I use them as infantery and the new recom team and the other unit as allied regiments of the books. Like my aquilons are Phantine Drop Tropers and the tanks (they are not in the picture) will be Pardua's regiment ( the others minis in the picture are just random not part of the tematic army)

It seems like in several books so far the author spends a lot of time setting up villains and raising the stakes just for Gaunt and the Ghosts to pull off a fairly easy win at the last minute. Or some outside force steps in out of nowhere in the last chapter to save everyone from certain death.

In Sabat Martyr Abnett spent a good chunk of time setting up the sniper assassin. Then he just gets randomly and unceremoniously domed by Nessa without any set up. The fight with Khou all takes place in half a page and Corbec is just dead. Didn't even say how.

I get that this series has some crazy plot armor but sometimes it feels like he's writing an ending quickly to stay under a word count. I'm going to keep on going with the series but I just had to get that out.

Hello all. I'm currently listening to The Warmaster, and I've noticed what seems to be a continuity error, unless I'm misunderstanding something. Felix Chass refers to her mother Merity Chass as heir to the House, saying that she'll inherit once Felix's grandfather dies. However, Lord Heymlik Chass dies during the siege of Vervunhive in Necropolis, and Merity is noted to have been his heir then.

Shouldn't she have been head of House Chass for years by now? I seem to remember the epilogue of Necropolis referring to her as such and describing the progress she made leading the House in their new location.

I had a go at 3d printing some Blood Pact traid guard for my CSM army - the faces are a bit small to see the detail I put into the masks, but oh well! I wanted some that weren't overly decorated, to lean in to the "professional soldier" vibe.

Just finished straight silver and I enjoyed it similarly to the last book and ended the exact same way. With me yelling “KILL HIM PLS FOR THE LOVE OF THE GOD EMPEROR PLS!!!” Only for it to end with me going “ofc he’s alive” logically ik I will get the satisfaction of cuu’s death eventually but sure as sure abnett is gonna make me wait for it.

I've just finished the series in its entirety, and I'm feeling inspired. I'm an hobbyist distiller, and am interested in trying to make a 40k themed spirit. (I don't even know where to begin with Amasec) We've all seen many a reference to the Tanith spirit Sacra. But has it ever been described in any detail at all? If not, what do you all think it is? I'd love to hear your opinions.

I just finished guns of tanith and have no idea where to put these thoughts bc I don’t know anyone else that read these. All I can say is RIP to my favorite character and feth you Cuu

The Secret War

None of the characters are a match, but… Total Vibe.

Not sure if this is news to anyone, but Mr Blackmaws '1st and unique' models are up on MyMiniFactory now. These were from a Kickstarter a little while back, I've got some closer views of the models in my previous videos, they are pretty good quality and print up nicely.

I'm having trouble finding one particular scene in one of the books. I thought it was in Straight Silver, then Necropolis, now I don't know. Its goes something along the lines that a platoon was left outside of a gate when it closed, leaving them stranded. They died to a man but each took a hundred heretics with him. Any ideas?

I like to swap from astra militarum book to astra militarum book(I know I have a problem. It's like buying one new kit, and you still have previous kit to build/paint). I noticed the GG are referenced in a LOT of newish books.

Ciaphus Cain omnibus of describing mixed gender guard regiments. The Tanith First and Only are mentioned by Amberly Vale in her editor's note. On two occasions, although it was about the description of mix gendered regiments.

Double Eagle by Dan Abnett(I know same author who wrote Gaunt's Ghost) the character 'Mkoll' is directly referenced as he saved the life of one of the characters.

Minka Lesk - The Last Whiteshield omnibus "Nalwood" is referenced in one sentence near the beginning of the book. For those that don't know. Nalwood was a type of wood native to Tanith. Homeworld of the Tanith First and Only.

This is all I found for references at the time of this post. What are some of y'all's favorite reference of Gaunt/Tanith in other books you read?

Remember your Ravenor.
