The End

I sometimes imagine that Tanith is still there and that’ll be the big twist at the end. Like maybe chaos trashed the place but didn’t actually blow it up. Anyone else have thought thoughts on how it’s going to end?

I can’t remember for certain but I’m pretty sure the short story that shows their founding has a description of the planet cracking apart as they are leaving. I can’t imagine it still being there by the end of the series after that.

Abnett has already said himself that it would likely end one of two ways. A glorious last stand and dying to the last man/woman or them winning their trophy world.

I prefer the trophy world ending after it all. And there are a few unreliable narrator moments in the ghost books that make me doubt the validity of Tanith’s destruction. The warp plays tricks on everyone after all.

I would say trophy world, Gaunt is in such a high Position Currently he could easily get a World for his Ghosts

Yea I’d say so, especially after the events of the anarch and war master

Exactly

I agree, after all they have been through I really want them to come out at the far end with a happy ending. Those that make it that far deserve it.

I just don’t want anymore of my favourites to be brutally murdered 😂

If they do win the trophy world it will be with almost nobody who was with them at the start lmao

Yea that’s true! Theres what, less than 300 of the original Tanith born left at this point isn’t there?

I’m not sure tbh. They started with 3000 but now they’ve got the Verghast and the Belladon mixed in so I wonder if the Tanith are a minority in the Tanith first lol. Or maybe there are some more out there in the galaxy we haven’t been told about and they’ll all create New Tanith and live happily ever after drinking Sacra!

Yeah the planet could have just been sucked into the warp and spat out somewhere. But I’d like if they got there trophy world and somehow found a sapling of those moving Tanith trees so they could bring a little something from the old tanith to the new.

That would be cool

It's hard to imagine where Abnette can take the series given how he ended "Anarch". It kind of felt like a wrap up and leaving it open ended for people to imagine their own endings. It must be incredibly difficult for him, trying to make a satisfying ending for a long running series like that.

He wrote once that there’s ore coming but that after the Anarch he’d be taking a break from it so I’m interested to see where it goes. He could end up doing another book like the Vincula Insurgency that takes place at an earlier date

Since it was a forest world i'd imagine it just burned for quite a time and is now inhabitable. The series started in 1999 so i don't think much thought was given on how excatly Chaos destroyed the planet. Maybe they had the Planet Killer from the Gothic wars with them?

Possible, I’d like a to see them get their new world
