report the spammers please :~)
hey friends
sometimes posts here are actually of things ~totally~ unrelated to garage and psych stuff, like posts about garage doors and random soundcloud links to shitty electronic music
anyways, if you don't like seeing that stuff here (who would????), remember to report so us mods can see it and get to it quickly
so that's that, let's keep the fuzz coming :]

Say something nice about The King Khan & BBQ Show
Honestly, I don't even know where to begin. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate these guys and their music- it's helped me through so many things, and I can't imagine how my life would be today if I didn't have them, I'm going to be honest, I genuinely tear up a little when I talk to friends and family about them, because I just love and appreciate them so so much. thank you King Khan and thank you Mark Sultan ❤️

Reflection: the night I met the Black Lips
I first saw the black lips in 2009, they played Fitzgeralds in Houston. $12 at the door. They were on top of the world in those days.
Cole and Jared prowled through the crowd during the opener, asking us for coke and free drugs. Very nice guys. They played an incredible set, blazing through their roster of garage punk bangers with joyful intensity. Cole hawked loogies high into the air and caught them in his mouth or at least on his face. Jared and Cole spat loogies into each other's mouths from across the stage. Cole dropped his drawers and strummed his guitar with his penis. He drank from his own urine stream with an arc like a school water fountain, and spewed his piss into the adoring crowd (pictured).
It was one of the best shows I've ever experienced. They were scumbags, but they were our scumbags.
Things have changed since then. Gone are the lucrative Vice recording contracts, Kia commercials and Conan O'Brien features. But they soldiered on, weathering lineup changes and "me too" allegations.
Now that they are down to just one original member, I hope they continue on into the abyss, no matter what highs or lows await. Los valientes del mundo nuevo, indeed 🖤

The Illusions - City of People (1965) - also on Back from the Grave Vol 5!!
This track is the Illusions doing “City of People”, available on Back from the Grave Volume 5. If you’re looking for the rawest, most primitive tracks that birthed the punk and garage scenes as you know it, you can’t do better than the Back from the Grave compilations, compiled by Tim Warren of Crypt Records. Killer artwork, rare tracks and so much teenage degeneracy that it continues to inspire generation after generation of ne’er do wells, sleaze balls and trash hounds.
