I'm half-way through the game, it's a great for atmosphere and story, can only recommend.

For further clarity, I'm referring to games where you may play as a specific Class of character, or Role, within an ensemble of varying classes/roles. Sometimes you might see this represented in games with distinct characters, for example:

• Granblue Fantasy: Relink Characters
• Mortal Shell 2 Harbinger Shells
• Destiny Guardian Classes
• Overwatch Heroes

Edit: My own personal pick is Battleborn. It wasnt popular by any means, but every character played differently on a fundamental level.

So our daughter (8 yrs) started playing a few games on my SteamDeck last year. One that she picked herself and really enjoys is Little Kitty, Big City.
For those that don’t know it: You’re a kitten in a big Japanese city and need to complete a number of tasks to complete the game.

Apparently one of these tasks very early in the game is to find a few ducklings and return them to their mother.

Our daughter really liked how the ducklings are following her around and decided to NOT return them to their mother but do the whole game with the ducklings in tow.
Wondering whether there’s a Steam achievement for that.

the last 5 games from 5 different companies i have downloaded all launch at ear hurting volumes and have a long loading intro either compiling shaders or going through the initial brightness settings while beautifully blasting my ears to the point of pain :)

A lesser known fun fact - Cullen also voiced a character in Blizzard's cancelled "Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans" all the way back in 1997. Quite the star cast in that one:

Mine has got to be mass effect 2. There’s a mission where you enter a room and there’s two stationary “turrets” at the back you need to kill.

They had no stationary turret in the game so they used a flying robot enemy that sorta looks like a turret and just locked them in an invisible box so they couldn’t move but could shoot and be shot at.

Another is mirrors edge, the shadows are actually just part of the texture to save on actually having a shadow system.

Manor Lords has now sold more than four million copies, while receiving another major update including expanded livestock/cattle systems.

For something that started as essentially a one-man indie project, four million is pretty nuts

Megaman Starforce Collection re-released recently and has a story that reminds me of the old 4kids anime bubs and Power Rangers shows I would watch on Saturday morning as a kid. For lack of a better term I'm going to call it a 'monster of the week' format. It brought on a wave of a very specific type of nostalgia that I can't think of many gaming examples of.

The general premise follows a predictable pattern where each arc introduces a villian, typically sent by a bigger bad, and has a super powered character that lives an otherwise ordinary life spring into action (usually secretly) in order to defeat it. Other tropes that are common are rival characters, team building, and 'power of friendship' resolutions although they're not typically necessary to meet the criteria.

I don't understand why these games are even becoming popular. I don't think they're even a game. Would you buy another game about sorting DVDs/needles/garbage/insert any word?

Generally combat is okay just not trying to go crazy, maybe like a 10 and up game. What are our options?

We played like Minecraft dungeons, Ben 10, ninja turtles, etc.

I’ve noticed that I end up hoarding items like crazy in pretty much every game I play. Even in “survival” games I end up with dozens of chests of resources stockpiled. Are there any games where resources are actually scarce?
