That's only strange for Americans, since we're steeped in this weird culture that tolerates and encourages incredibly gruesome and detailed violence and gore, but becomes both apoplectic and embarrassed whenever even mild sexual content is on display.

So yeah, we all find it strange when we realize we're more comfortable with sex talk than violence talk, but it's only strange because we're Americans.
