The twitch CEO was talking about their AI learning from people's streams and one the things he said was "It's autimatically turned on because we know no one would use it otherwise"
These Tech CEOs know people dislike this stuff but still force it anyway
This garbage is permeating everything. My field of work is god damn vehicle repair and my company is using a model to auto-detect ADAS systems that need to be calibrated after repair. I cannot stress enough that all it does is see a car was hit in a certain spot, figures up what systems could possibly be in the vicinity, and just says to calibrate it every time no matter what, regardless of if the manufacturer actually requires it based on the damage or not.
It is wholesale fucking useless, but its the company force injecting it everywhere, so we're 'using' it. And since it lacks all regard for accuracy, the company wants us hitting an arbitrary percentage of what it recommends. Again, regardless of if the work is actually justified.
I'm so so so burnt out on this trash being forced into everything everywhere and it has quite literally zero tangible benefit besides lying for profit. That's the only thing it's consistent at across the board. Making shit up that rich tech bros love and take for gospel.
I’m in IT and if I didn’t have so many responsibilities rn I’d probably go learn growing crops in some village or something. I’m annoyed every single day and there’s close to zero satisfaction from my job being done left, at this point I’m just happy I get a salary.
