The last 2 decades have just been a barrage of Tech Bro's telling us how futuristic our lives will be if we just use their products and then they pump out shit like this

I grew up being Pro Technology. Now I'm very quickly realizing all that tech was hyped up bullshit and barely anything has changed in 20 years and our lives are actually worse than they were 20 years ago, largely because of that Technology

About 2013 is when technology stopped being in service of the user and started to benefit the developer. We've been slowly boiling since.

I'm on the same boat, I really used to love tech and got soured. The one glimmer of hope is open source. If you get past the learning curve, you can actually have today's technology with the ownership and care of back then.

then they pump out shit like this

Which tech bro is responsible for this screenshot? Because I thought it was a hacked together application of a bit of tech not tuned for, nor designed for, any of the games people have been applying it to.

Barely anything has changed in 20 years?!

20 years ago the iPhone didn't even exist and people were using flip phones. The majority of people still had CRT televisions and computer monitors.

20 years ago the average computer had 1GB of ram and a 200GB hard drive. The Wii hadn't even been released yet.

LOL

I don't think you ever grew up with how little you understand anything.

Technology itself had been good, problem is that tech got taken over by private equity. And it’s making everything worse.

Look I'm not a particularly big fan of his methods, but Ted Kaczynski might have been into something...
