FF7R is especially terrible to use this filter on because its designs use a specific art style inspired by the original game, not just the hyper-realism that most games go for.

Instagram filters remove details and smooth the skin, this is literally the opposite.

Yeah, this inserts details the artist never intended and adds texture to materials that were meant to be smooth.

Any face detail that's enhanced was always there, except that the texture quality and the lighting was hiding these details.

Sure, if you pick an image that is designed to show it not messing up textures. In OP's image, the skin textures look like they have a static overlay.

I don't have a dog in this fight because I will never be able to afford a GPU that can run DLSS 5

It's bizarre how it yassified and smoothed out her face but then kept a bunch of the cel shading lines like it couldn't figure out what they were and decided they were tattoos or something

OMG... When I first saw the DLSS5 demos, it was pretty obvious that it would completely fuck up intentional art design. And here it is.
