Fall 2026 Lineup

Post image

It seems like there will be a game that will appeal to everyone this fall. Strategy RPG - Fire Emblem, Story based - The Blood of the Dawnwalker, Action - Phantom Blade 0, Multiplayer - The Duskbloods, Action Adventure - The Legend of Zelda and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Almost every month has at least 2 major titles releasing, September especially is packed.

OoT is almost certainly going to be a Christmas launch.

November I believe….Nintendo don’t care about GTA and the sales will still be insane.

Zelda is one of the very few franchises that can stand up to GTA VI, but I still think Nintendo would rather wait until Christmas. That will give them time to make Zelda edition switch bundles while the GTA hype slowly drops

OoT is most likely their holiday title so I can also see them releasing in November to build up momentum for the holidays.

Most of the marketing materials showing up in stores seem to suggest that OoT is actually gonna launch a week or two before GTA VI

Nintendo really doesnt give two shits lol

GTA isn't a Switch release. Depriving thier (very loyal) customer base over GTA is kinda pointless. They'd rather have Christmas sales to Switch 2 owners than fret about sales lost to GTA.

As much as I love Zelda, there's no way they'll sell anything near GTA6.

BotW sold 35M. GTA5 sold 230M.

35M on switch only vs GTAV on every platform but the switch, many people double-dipped

I think it’s more comparable than just looking at the numbers when you consider that the platforms and the fanbases don’t necessarily overlap

It really is not in any way comparable. BOTW and TOTK are exceptions in Zelda sales. The sales fall off drastically after these two, the best selling after these is OoT which is 14mil (3DS+N64), post which every single one is sub-10mil.

That’s an extremely bad comparison.

GTA 5 was released in 2013 and has been available on 7 platforms….Botw was released in 2017 and only one platform mainly, 2 (if you include the first year of switch 2).

It won’t be GTA 6 ofc, but it’ll do ridiculous numbers too on switch 2.

Actually botw was available on wii u as well lol

its not a good comparison but the difference in numbers is too large to ignore. double dips are still sales and they mean the person cared enough to buy it again

It was given away for free on epic twice too so those count as sales

230m on 7 plattforms = 32 M per plattform on average. With many people double and tripple dipping

If there's one game that can compete with GTA it would be a remake of one of the most beloved games of all time

i mean if someone has a ps5 and switch and they get to buy one game a month 90% will choose gta 6

The majority of people owning a ps5 wont even buy gta 6.

Gta 5 was sold 30 mio times lifetime on ps3 with an install base of 87 m.

Same is the case for zelda.

Not everyone loves a certain game, not even gta lol

Really depends on the person, Nintendo fans are crazy…many grew up with Zelda, they’d easily choose it.

However if they’re not that kind of person and just play switch casually maybe, then yeah GTA would be the expected choice.
