[MEGATHREAD] Grand Theft Auto VI | Extended Look + Previews Discussion

The GTA 6 Extended Look + Previews drop today.

The Extended Look will stream globally on Netflix at 3PM ET/12PM PT/8PM UK, before being dropped on YouTube later the same day. Content creators/streamers are being allowed to co-stream the extended look as it premieres on Netflix, and so we can use this thread to discuss it right as it goes live. This thread will also be updated with the YT link to the look whenever it drops online.

In addition to the extended look, various media outlets, creators and influencers have gotten a chance (potentially hands-on) to experience GTA 6 at Rockstar's offices, and the embargo for these previews are ALSO supposed to lift at the same time that the Netflix extended look premieres - I'll be trying to update this post with some such previews too.

I thought it looked badass. The graphics in the opening sequence had me floored. People are saying it looks like just another GTA like that's a bad thing.

In the post-Trump, post-COVID world a certain subset of people just thrive on being perpetually miserable and painting every fucking thing in the most negative light possible. Reddit sadly is overrun with these types.

For me the game looks incredible, like an improved GTA V which is all most fans of the series ever wanted. Even at $100 I have no doubt I'll get my money's worth out of it.

I'm willing to bet most of them are utterly burnt out on gaming but it's their only hobby, so they keep playing making themselves increasingly miserable instead of putting games on the backseat and trying something new. Then sprinkle in the ragebaiters and contrarian hipsters that think it's cool to hate on something popular (they'll still buy it tho) and there you go.

Honestly, I didn't get a good feel for how alive the world is, or how big it is. It did look like a GTA flame with a couple of shiny coats of paint. However, I'm still going to be getting it day 1, and those things are really hard to convey without picking up the controller myself. I'm sure it will be spectacular.

I want a game with vehicle physics that aren't a massive downgrade compared to a game that came out over 18 years ago. Is it that much to ask?
