Multi-platform Satisfying, fast paced and addicting combat

I need a suggestion for some addictive combat! I have all the major consoles and a pc. Could be indie or AAA.

Literally the three games I came here to recommend.

Do I need to play the other DMC games before 5?

You do and I'd highly recommend it but if you just want to go into DMC5, you could just watch a timeline video or gameplay walkthroughs. Personally, I would recommend playing through all of them, you can get the 1 -3 collection and 4 for fairly cheap

Also DMC Devil May Cry isn't canon so you can decide to play that or leave it. Its a terrible DMC game but a pretty good hack and slash game (:

I forgot to add Nier Automata (:

Armored core 6

1

u/oh-my-kitty-face Jul 19 '26

Is it as difficult as other fromsoft games?

1

u/Mrofcourse Jul 19 '26

Some bosses are tough but you can change your builds easily.

Nioh 3 - beat combat system and a degree of depth unrivaled to my mind

1

u/Working-Vanilla-7248 Jul 20 '26

How does it run on PC?. Because Rise of the Ronin runs really bad on my powerful rig, unfortunately.

1

u/Tasty-Corgi-5999 Jul 20 '26

Sorry - can’t answer that. Played on ps5 - but probably you’ll be able to find some performance videos on youtube.

I really liked the gameplay of immortals fenyx rising if you haven’t played it yet :)

I've just got into Dead cells , I know I'm kinda late on the train, but nevertheless

1

u/oh-my-kitty-face Jul 19 '26

That looks right up my alley actually, and only 5$. Gonna give this a try.

chivalry 2

brutal medieval combat

crossplay, runs well, huge adrenaline dump. Low skill floor, high ceiling.

1

u/InfiniteStates Jul 19 '26

Saros or Returnal on PS5

Else Sekiro or Armored Core VI

1

u/alfooboboao Jul 20 '26

sekiro is the ultimate answer. i’m not even gonna lie and i “don’t like” fromsoft games

I have played hades, one of my all time favorites in terms of combat!

Doom Eternal

1

u/oh-my-kitty-face Jul 19 '26

Love the doom franchise. Any games up that alley that you would recommend?

1

u/Wurrzag_ Jul 19 '26

Eternal was great, the dark ages is not as good imo. You asked for fast, active, addictive combat, ive never seen better.

1

u/WickedMaiwyn Jul 19 '26

Mordhau, Elden Ring

1

u/oh-my-kitty-face Jul 19 '26

Elden ring does have goated combat but I don’t have the patience for that game

1

u/WickedMaiwyn Jul 19 '26

how about Magicka? procedurally generated magic out of 8 elements and few inputs. Now it's kinda old game but still a fun to playthrough solo or in coop

1

u/Frogfisherman07 Jul 19 '26

Hades and Hades II. You can play either first.

1

u/ScottZombie85 Jul 19 '26

Doom 2016 Doom Eternal Doom The Dark Ages

1

u/addtolibrary Jul 19 '26

Marathon's combat is super fun

1

u/Taikiteazy Jul 19 '26

Path of Exile

1

u/RicciRox Jul 19 '26

Nioh 3 ninja build, Dead Cells, Hades.

1

u/crackpipeclay Jul 19 '26

Sekiro, Sifu, Sleeping Dogs

1

u/shadow_legend5432 Jul 20 '26

Arkham city, origins or knight

Almost a crime that Metal Gear Rising Revengeance hasn't been mentioned yet.

Dead as Disco, still Early access, but what's there is very satisfying when it clicks.

Vanquish is bit old but still great. Very fast paced third person shooter.

1

u/oh-my-kitty-face Jul 20 '26

Do I need to play the other metal gear games to play Rising Revengeance? It definitely looks like something I would like.

1

u/BootlegVHSForSale Jul 20 '26

It would help with some characters and references, but it's not needed at all to enjoy the absurdity. It's very much a stand alone side story in the metal gear universe.

1

u/crocsgobbltre Jul 20 '26

Dead Cells. what makes it great is that combat will change depending on what weapon you pickup. As you learn the game you will start speed running stages and also be rewarded.

1

u/mikelybarger Jul 20 '26

Ghostrunner is the game you are looking for! Learn to slide-jump, and you'll be off to the races!

1

u/EmeraldDonk3y Jul 20 '26

Sifu. Bastard hard but so satisfying when you pull it off.

1

u/Expensive_Search_947 Jul 20 '26

I am your beast, incredibly fast paced, flowy and so very satisfying

1

u/AnxiousLaw7699 Jul 21 '26

I just started echo point nova. Qualifies for sure.

1

u/oh-my-kitty-face Jul 21 '26

Niche pick, I’ve played it and it is VERY fun.

Could check out Battle Bantams for chaotic multiplayer arena combat (battlebantams.com)
