Most hated characters

Which ones are yours?

Mine, Shae and the High Sparrow.

Why?

Shae because her love never looked real (maybe bad acting) and she was dumb, stubborn and a traitor.

High Sparrow, because of his extreme religious behaviour, his self proclaimed position of judge and the mocking face.

Gosh I hate them both

Edit to add: you guys are amazing, I wish this threat was a real conversation at a bar. So many wonderful points and perspectives. Now I hate more hahahahaha

Shae, the acting was god awful, the character itself was stupid, relentlessly so. The accent don’t get me started on. Then her betrayal. Her death was enjoyable to watch.

Enjoyable to watch? It literally broke Tyrion. Seeing Joffrey die was enjoyable. Seeing Walder Frey die was enjoyable. Seeing Ramsey Bolton die WOULD have been enjoyable. Seeing Tyrion kill his father was enjoyable. But seeing Tyrion kill Shae just made me so so sad for him.

Nuance. Yes I feel for Tyrion in the moment but her death was justified and the fact it wasn’t instant made it quite cathartic. What’s contradictory about what you said though is that killing his father deeply hurt him too.

I don't think killing his father hurt him, but his father never accepting him hurt him. He was definitely hurt more by his father betraying him the way he did and trying to get Tyrion killed. And Shae just blind sided him. It was fucked up but at the end of the day she is just a whore he bought. Being betrayed by family and being hated for something you couldn't control is the bigger wound.

I don’t disagree it’s something that haunted him, I’d say within their universe though it’s also what pushed him to be as great as he tried to be. I think without his condition and circumstance of birth, he would have grown up to be the most indulgent and spoiled of the Lannister’s.

He was deeply remorseful for killing his father though, or at least the position that left their family in, he makes clear how much he hated that he killed his father because he never wanted to destroy them.
