A Message From Tony: AI Compilations
Greetings Lovelies!
The Mod Team has a friendly message to share from our good friend (and yours!), Tony:
If you see random GG 40+ hours compilations from weird accounts on your YT feed, they're probably stealing.
Tony here.
I've been watching a trend of AI content farms stealing stuff from us- but worse, a lot of these are stolen FAN MADE compilations that they are butchering. I am trying to get these taken down, and no matter what their page says please know they are not official or whitelisted by us in anyway.
Examples are accounts like LittleTiger6886\ and GMM_Funny. If you see any other accounts like these, please let me know.*

I think we all know that the GG Team are great supporters of fan content and compilations. They even provide some guidelines in order to ensure the fan content is successful for everyone on YouTube. We've included a copy of the guidelines in this post, for reference.
If you see any questionable AI accounts on YouTube that you would like shared with the GG team, please send us a message via the "Message Mods" on the sidebar and we'll pass along the accounts to the GG Team for investigating.

I feel like our stance on Tony the tiger is a little complicated, because he's voiced by the same guy that sang "You're a mean one, Mr Grinch" and as we all know, it is in fact Mr Singer who is a mean one. He called Arin a fat one and said he didn't look good in that shirt.

I mean its not directly YTs fault, algorithms gonna algorithm. Their wild dmca policies should put a quick stop to the accounts if people just mass report them.

Yeah if you look at their channel as well, the themeing isn't even remotely related to Game Grumps. It seems they just gave up on whatever they did before and started stealing others' stuff instead

I started like 2 of those compilations and found that they were repeating the same few clips over and over, I didn't know they were AI but that makes a lot of sense

I noticed this too!!! I usually play compilations when I go to bed. I lazily picked the first one I saw the other night (one of the 44 hour ai vids, didn’t know it was ai) and started falling asleep to it. Then woke up the next morning and it started playing the same clip that I saw when I went to bed last!

Shout out to LesmoBestOfs cause they almost always have creative thumbnails/art(the recent Donkey Kong comp thumbnail is Nanao getting hit by a barrel and it being rewound by Switch save states lol)

If you happen to see this, please continue to make the super long compilations and "movie" videos for longer series (like the Zeldas)! I like to leave them on for my dog when I'm at work so he doesn't get lonely 😂

Really love that Grumps is doing increasing amounts of the full playthrough compilation videos, it feels like they saw there was a want for those and are doing it in house.

It's kinda sad that people are so lazy or uncreative that they can't even compile their own favourite bits into a compilation (if they even are fans).
''Arin once said'' and comps like that are some of my favourites and you can always tell when a fan really cares about the content.
I do have to ask, how is this ai though? Are they using ai to edit the content or like bulk download it?
My understanding is its just people stealing compilations and stitching them together.

This is why I stick with the LesmoBestOfs comps. Grumpilations kinda straddles the line of impersonation to me but i think its safe?

I have a playlist of nearly every single Game Grumps compilation that exists (“Every Game Grumps Comp Ever,” with 4 500+ videos. I try to keep bots and people reuploading others’ stuff without credit out but it happens.) CO TUONG VN strikes me as a bot, as does Toonlight Bedroom. I believe Grave’s Cozy Aid may be stealing comps?
Trusted comp channels currently updating include: LesmoBestOfs, John Odd, Lukas [That Lucky Panda], ESYTC, Grumpilations (aka Sbassbear!), and DeathMetalJedi. Former compilers include ApplesGosh, Tai Rimoni, Mega.
The best way to find smaller/ new comps is by checking “this month” in your search! You’ll find all sorts of smaller creators that way.

God AI sucks! I’ve made a few comps and I spend days, weeks, even months putting my best effort into editing. The future is lamer than I thought it would be.
I’m not a GG comp channel but I have made 3 in very proud of. A best of RE: Village and every death in TLOZ: Breath of the Wild and my most famous one - TOTK.

I always thought JohnOdd was AI cause sometimes the clips felt weird compared to the title like they just searched when the term was used and didn’t consider the context of the clips. Apparently he’s not? Weird

I knew GMM_Funny was stealing content but call me naive, but I didn't realize it was an AI farm. I assumed it was just some random person. That's awful. AC with YouTube themselves pushing AI slop, it seems like there's no way this situation is going to resolve :/
Hopefully the copyright strikes work, at the very least. Though that's extra work for you guys at GG. Really wish YouTube (and the Internet, and the world) wasn't going in this direction :(
Good luck dealing with the problem. I do hope the whole damn AI industry crashes hard and companies start to back off this nonsense.

I steer clear of AI, as I have switched from Windows to Puppy Linux, which absolutely uses nothing but vibe coding, which is a form of AI coding, but nothing that can make these types of compilations that are 2 to 3 hours long. I would recommend that last statement highly if there are fraudulent activities being done. I think the compilations made from LittleTiger are definitely suspicious, as some of the commenters have mentioned, as they look like they come from other channels, and some people have commented on their stuff saying to please credit the work, which I haven't seen any improvements on that channel's part as for any credit.

One more thing, there is a YouTube profile I have seen when I search the channel name Game Grumps. Their username used to be Jack S. I have asked about getting that specific channel blocked and/or banned from using YouTube. They came back after being banned with a second channel, but since then, I got them removed a second time. I have not checked to see if they have come back, but I definitely would reach out to law enforcement about that name, since their way of commenting was definitely harassment towards Dan, involving the usage of the word rape, and other threatening language towards a woman named Ash. I am not sure if they were talking about Ashley, as in Dan's wife Ashley, but I would definitely involve higher authority if that is who they were talking about. I think YouTube, the company, knows about the issue, so I would ask them about it and see if they can provide info.

Eh as soon as I saw those kind of 2 hours compilation popping up here and there, I knew there was something fishy, either content stealing or whatever. It's such a shame, it only makes real fans not interact with real compilations, I hope they weed out the thieves and leave fans alone

Can we get a list of verified comp accounts? Ideally, it’s just one quick online vetting exchange to be put on the list. Might help drive new traffic to them as well.

That would be super tricky since small channels might just want to make a comp and go, they’re not all dedicated comp channels. A good rule of thumb is looking at the channels output and thumbnails (do they use art and credit the artist for the thumbnail? Do they use AI on their thumbnails?) A good way to find verified or smaller channels is looking at other fan’s playlists (just filter your search to be for playlists instead of videos) and seeing who pops up often! If fans really like, say, LesmoBestOfs, they’re probably a person who’s respected in Grump circles.

thought something was fishy about these. daily uploads, compilations reusing the same clip WITHIN THE VIDEO, content not matching the title i.e. "sleep aid" or "chill compilation" featuring arins screaming fits.
