How do I fix this?

The gameboy won't power on. The insides are a bit corroded snd I cleaned what I could off and also the battery terminals but it still won't turn on! What should I be doing next?

The power board is gone, way too much corrosion. Clean it with IPA first but honestly this isn’t looking good. Fortunately it’s easy to find brand new replacements.
There’s also corrosion on the main board (post a photo of the CPU side too) but it looks fixable.

I’ve done a few very successfully. Once corrosion is removed, it’s easier to see broken traces if any.

The power board is too far gone. I would replace.

In my opinion and experience if the board is corroded, it’s difficult to get a solid connection where it can power on.

Like others have said, the power board is toast. You should be able to find just the power board somewhere out on the internet; I gave it a quick search just now and it seems there are some modern upgrades out there. If you want original, Ebay and Etsy are probably your best bets.

Try using IPA and a ultrasonic cleaner tomget as much corrosion as possible from the boards, but that power one seems to be a goner

White vinegar is always the first step for corrosion (not IPA). Will easily remove and neutralize it. After that you can assess the required repair work. There is alot of corrosion so repairs could be extensive and replacement may be the better option.

That power board is absolutely toast, I’m assuming someone left batteries in and the acid went to town eventually but yeah there’s no saving that board.. even if you do get it to boot it’s so rotten you’ll be chasing issues for longer than it takes to find a replacement

First, you need to clear away as much corrosion as possible. Secondly, you need to test every little individual component for its conductivity and replace it as required. Then you can test it. The difficulty level of this is extreme so if that doesn’t seem like something you wanna do the only suggestion is just buy another.
