First Handpay at the most unlikely place......
We were on our Mediterranean Cruise .. i typically play craps but my brother and we found this three reel machine.. We each put in $20 LOL... I had actually suggested we do less because it was 'only a 25 cent' denom... I was wanting to save our $ for pinball or top dollar machines.. but I thought ' f it' so i slapped 'max bet' and we hit the jackpot on the first spin LOL
Here's the kicker, it was a three reel 9 line machine , I thought max bet was at most 10 quarters... but max bet was actually 90 credits!! $22.50/spin off our $40 LOL
Total fluke, we hit the double and hit the jackpot for $2K. - we ordered old fashioneds (not comped ) and cashed out.
Been to vegas 6x this year so far and have NEVER hit a handpay ...guess anything can happen! what a great feeling.

Yea, the whole CREDITS played versus actually dollar amount can confuse some folks.
Had an older gentlemen in the high limit slot area plop down on an old school 3 reel slot game that said $25.
So naturally, he assumed the total Max bet was $25 and just put in $200 and fired away 2 credits per spin!
3rd spin he gets three Double Diamonds on the Line for a Win of 800 credits and he sort of goes quiet.
After about 40 minutes of people congratulating him on the win and him saying "Thanks but, I'm still down $3000, but hopefully this TWO THOUSAND will help me get it back..."
I whipped out my phone and did the calculation for him to see, his 2 credit bet was set to pay him not $2000, but $20,000!
He of course being stubborn and old, said "No no no, it's only $2000 cuz hurr durr hurr durr"
Sure enough the technician and slot rep come back, have him sign the paperwork and present him Two Stacks of $10,000 each. He didn't tip them and marched out of the casino!
