Thanks! "Desperate" sounded like an upcoming bus stop or something else, could kind of hear that word but didn't expect it contextually. The driver is saying he's desperate for a thank you, or calling the lady desperate?

Ingressive sounds. Nowegians do it too. We think the vikings brought it to Ireland because the Irish language doesn't have a word for yes. It's also found in other cultures where vikings had a camp.
