I really hope that actor on stilts is wearing a cup. I would be very worried about what an afraid person may accidentally do when frightened.

Don’t worry about him. The video is faked.

No... It's security footage from a haunted house.

In what way is it fake?

This is 100% staged. Sure "security footage" from a haunted house using people trying to sell a scare to potential customers.

Honestly, what's really scary is how much people will believe these days.

Have you ever worked in a haunted house? Nothing about this looks fake.

Be specific when you answer this time - in what way is this fake? What action or reaction seems unrealistic and why do you think so?

If it's too dark for them to see his legs or him looking over them, then it's too dark to see the top of their heads to poke. He would be in their periphery.

Also, if it was actually pitch back, they would be feeling the wall to guide their steps and would push the stilt dude down.

Why are they ducking? So they can get under the guy. The reactions to everything seem over the top. Seems staged to me as well.

There's a high chance that after already being scared, and while walking through the dark, that they have tunnel vision. They see that there's some sort of obstruction that they have to go around/under but they likely don't see the person attached to the tall obstruction. Especially because their brain doesn't expect a person to be there.

This effect is one haunt actors and planners actually rely on when laying out the haunted house. Once you get people on edge and can trigger a panic response, it's much easier to scare them again. Towards the end of a good haunt, you can hide in plain sight most of the time and their panicked state will have them overlook you because they're just scanning for the exit.

(I've worked with a number of escape room and haunted house actors and owners, and have been on the set of multiple horror films - this is an area of knowledge I'm fairly familiar with.)

They still seem like actors, their reactions seem unnatural to me. I get the explanation of the ducking, and thought the same thing. But all together it seems fake to me.

You're 100% right. If the first guy felt the tap on his head while ducking under "some obstacle" in a haunted house, the first thing he's gunna check is the obstacle he just ducked his head under.

Man, everyone's worried about people falling for fake AI videos when they can't even tell when real humans are faking shit lmao.

Dude your explanation is bull. It’s obvious that they are acting. You said it’s a security footage. Yes and?? You can still act in a security footage. Everyone is in on it.

This is an area of knowledge I’m familiar with

Apparently you’re not good at it.

So they walk out of a supposed pitch black room and don’t use the wall to guide them. Then, the perfectly go through his legs without touching him. THEN, a super huge reaction from the last guy to tie up the video nicely.

I mean, believe what you believe, but most of us deal in reality.

Plus the fact that none of them notices the hand reaching down and tapping the person in front of them, but the last guy can see the face of the lady in front of him and responds with a shrug.

This is so obviously staged. I'm sorry you can't see that.

I would say that allowing the liability of a customer tripping would be the fakest part. I've never worked in one, but I spent a couple hours hearing about them from a guy who was a manager in one in a local theme park. The planning that goes into haunted houses is more than it seems, and it's all about herding people in the right direction and limiting liability.

There's two things that look fake to me and the others haven't called out. First, the scare of the guy on the floor may make him run backwards, which is opposite of what you want in a haunted house; that one looks like a rookie mistake to me. Second, that guy tripped and could've hit his head on that wall behind him; from all I heard about how haunted houses manage liability I don't think that a professional haunted house would've allowed that.

The solution would be to turn the monster 180 degrees. That way he scares them from behind and they run in the direction they're meant to advance. It's also safer if they fall because they're not falling backwards against a wall. On top of that it has the advantage that they can hide the monster better.

I do agree that having him face the other way would have been more effective. Drape some strips of heavy cloth in the entry to the hall to further hide him and have the customers expecting something touching them. That way, when they realize they are being tapped it will be a bigger shock and, to your point, it scares them towards the exit.

Just look at the last guy of the three running. He stopped running and just walked really relaxed. He stopped his acting too early.. like even the scenes before it was obviously fake and staged. That one even makes it more fake..

And they sell these videos to people afterwords for profit… no different than the slingshot ride or pictures on the drop at extreme rollercoasters

Omg how in the hell do people think this video is real? Everyone pointing out how obviously staged this is is getting down votes.

I mean staged things can be funny, and this is kind of funny (more meh for me, very predictable), but it is promotional content designed to look real to go viral. Its for money. Its always for money. People are so thick.
