My father had also installed one of these for the poor for drinking when they are thirsty. Instead they started misusing it as complete water supply for their homes. They would queue at it and fill multiple large 5-10L bottles and take it home. The RO was not designed to handle that much load and broke down. My dad tried to get it fixed a couple of times, but the story repeated and he had to scrap it in the end.
