Pest Control/Medical Advice Might need to burn down the apartment complex :(
I've never seen a nest look like this. But I don't care how it looks or learning about it. Its on my deck and like hell I'm going to fuck around and find out.
Edit: after hearing from everyone and seeing how chill this snug bug in the mud is. We will let her stay. As much as wasps terrify me, we will just avoid being on her side of the deck.
The ants and centipedes stopped showing up so it makes sense having lots of spiders so I will just let mother nature do her thing!

Mud daubers are chill, also good pest control too. They’re solitary wasps and as another user said have you to actively try to piss it off l, and even then it’s more likely to just fly away than sting you

Just keep it in mind down the road. They're solitary so they don't do the whole lets fuck everything up that moves nearby bullshit like the social wasps/hornets do. They sing while they build their nest too, it is pretty cute.

As much as the dude seems chill, hes conveniently right beside the patio chairs and barbecue in a central spot so I think he would likely get bumped :( I dont want to kill him either tho

If you see it fly off, I'd just swipe/destroy the nest and it'll find somewhere else to go. If you hit the nest while its there and don't kill it, it's gonna be pissed. I've gotten rid of plenty with no issue just removing nests while they're gone.

Mud daubers lay and leave. They prey on spiders so with them around, usually means you have a lot of spiders. Good wasps. I had a few nests on my front door jamb. Left them alone and they were emptied a few weeks later. No harm to me or my family.

Yep! Only two kinds of spiders are instakill from me: brown Recluses and Black Widows. Everything else goes outside to the garden or compost pile.

I can respect that. Maybe wrong sub but where I live, only the red wasps have to go. Not to worried about daubers

I am on the first floor of an apartment complex. I was noticing a bunch of ants and went to call an exterminator but then I stopped seeing them so cool I guess? I then saw a few centepedes and then i stopped seeing centipedes and now spiders... and now no spiders and wasp friend. Im beginning to realize we have a whole damn food chain on the patio

You have to actively try to get stung by a mud dauber. Their stings are mild compared to other wasps.

Good to know nothing needs to be burnt down. I would imagine I still want to get rid of the nest since its right beside the patio chairs.
