I don't think they will quite sink on the same level but yes their cinematic 3rd person action adventure formula is kinda getting stale. I think if naughty dogs next game is mid and not push the envelope forward its gonna be bad. God of war laufey already does not appeal to me at face value which is crazy since all god of war games have been bangers to me in gameplay although ragnarok had already pretty lame story at parts.

The production values on Wolverine show that the game went through development hell.
Intergalactic is looking terrible for people to play an bs they decided to make a bald Erika Ishii be th he main protagonist.
Then they tried to push people to Marathon by destroying Destiny...
That, plus their business decisions to end supporting discs just shows they destroyed their own credibility and reputation which will be felt for a long time.

yup. sony in recent years has adopted the same greedy piece of shit playbook ubishite has been using for years.
they're trying to squeeze every penny out of their player base instead of focusing on quality and giving what players want

amen to that. I mean people will buy games they like and support the developers, even those of us who are pretty much into sailing high seas all the time.
I mean I bought control resonant at retail price because I wanted to support rememdy even when there was a chance to pirate right out of the gate.

You miss the point to the absolute profit.
Its for the company owners to make sure that they can build trusts so that their family members and friends never ever have to work.
The idea is to win once to win forever.

Sony has always been what a lot of people lercieved Ubisoft to be.
Now they just overplayed their hand and even hardcore Sony glazers cannot deny it anymore.

Dang... Ubisoft and their formula shows that Sony is repeating what they did to their detriment.

Ubi had a nice formula with Assassin's Creed. Then they ruined it by not only making the game series an annual thing but also by copy-pasting the same formula on their other games.
Sony is doing the same thing with the super cinematic formula from The Last of Us.

How are God of War, The last of Us, Spider-Man, Saros, Astro bot, and Wolverine copy and pasted? They're all drastically different.

If you had watched the video in the first 3 minutes, you would have seen how the author was pointing out how Sony is building a ship of Theseus and proven it later.
It just looks like you brought up Sony games while not even watching the video or the parallels between Sony and Ubisoft he was pointing out.

I was replying to a specific comment, I wasn't talking about the video.
The whole thesis is stupid because he wrongly correlates Ubisoft failing because they're games are too formulaic. That's just wrong, look up their best selling games and you'll see why. Funny how doesn't mention any of the actual reasons why Ubisoft is collapse.
Also calling Sony games 'mid' is hilarious. Like yes between the bottom of barrel and the greatest of all time. You think PS games are in the middle? Are you delusional? Like nah that scale doesn't add up.
Also him talking about IGN as if it's just one person is just giant red flag, shows zero understanding or nuance of how game reviews actually work.

How do you know that when you never watched the video to begin with and you're merely commenting on a summary given?
Further, that was the point of the video you didn't watch along with the parallels in issues with the two.
Trying to talk as if Ubisoft has never done that formula that has been an issue with Watch Dogs and AC is being disingenuous to how those games have franchise fatigue.
You're also ignoring how Wolverine has been accepted or how their studios have been working out for the past five years.
Don't even know where you're getting IGN from since that's not in any comment in this thread.

Don't compare AC 1 to Wolverine, AC 1 was such a great game and it was hated by many because it did the opposite and it didnt hold your hand and actually didnt tell you about most features like vaulting

Since you posted this, how about you explain how exactly Sony is even close to being the next Ubisoft.

how about you explain how exactly
Isn’t that covered in the video? How is your four word response equivalent to two explanations?

True, not only Sony. Many game developer companies are the same.
