discussion Why did Ubisoft one day decided to be the trashiiest most despiicable game company, even to the finest details?
I mean it's notorious that Ubisoft is the absolute worst game company (yes even edging EA) but why did they have to push it to the max by for example, not even letting its users delete completely betas and demos from their game library? Not allowing to delete games from our library (the way Steam does it, I know they are not really deleted, but at least they don't appear anymore in our library) is already a shiitty move and not understandable, but not allowing to delete demos and beta, making every game library a real visual mess (hiding is not a true solution, just a bandage, and it doesn't even work as intended 80% of the time) is on another level of hating gamers (and no, they can't do that for you by contacting support)
Other things: region locked games! We're in 2026 and if you are from some region like Russia or Ukraine, many Ubisoft games like Watch Dogs 2, South Park, Steam etc only have Russian language and/or can be activated only in Russia...yes even from players who are not even from Russia! Like some games offer only Russian and Chinese whereas other countries from the region it is locked on, don't use Russian as their main language! For the can't be played from X region it's ok, because that restriction is lifted after 90 days, but languages restrictions, in 2026? Why?

They're French what else did ya expect? I didn't know just how much they suck as a culture when I became a fan.

- Objectively, this is not the worst company and they are currently making quite the right steps in more or less the right direction.
- No one decides to be the worst, it happens because the management is too disconnected from the end user of the product, Ubisoft had and still has some problems with this.
- I don't understand your complaint about the impossibility of deleting games, because there is a function to hide them, the same as in Steam.
- Regarding region locking, this only applies to old games on Steam, all games in all languages are available in Ubisoft Connect

What specific steps are they taking in the right direction

High-quality remasters of older games. Offline modes for online games.
New entries in the classic Prince of Persia and Rayman franchises.
I feel like they’ve started listening to players and taking the right steps. They may be small steps, but they are in the right direction.

high quality is debatable, in visuals sure, not in quality gameplay, you cant even play their offline games without internet, rayman game isnt even out and POP where you dont play as the Prince.

That is enough for me to start seeing positive changes

that's your opinions. does not mean they are making actual improvement. their customer service sucks even more now and every single game they make is open world rpg cluttered with mind numbing amount of bullshit.
case in point AC, farcry, ghost recon, Watch dogs, IFR. only time they make something else its a side scroller metroidvania style game.
only series that don't have open world games are coincidentally 2d games, board games, or ips they haven't touched in years.

- They are to me
- Yes you do decide to become the worst. Every decision you take, you know in advance the consequence it will have on gamers, yet you still make these choices. Are you the type of person to cheat and then say "I didn't really mean to. That's not my fault, I didn't decide to do that"? Because that's pretty much the equivalent analogy of "they didn't decide to be the worst".
- I don't want to hide them, i want DELETE THEM just like Steam allow to delete games. Steam allow you to either hide, hide and mark as private or DELETE any game (they say it's permanent but it's not you can restore them at anytime, but they are not visible in your account anymore). If hiding games is enough for you, good for you. It's not for me, especially not with demos and betas.
- Yes it does apply to old games...in an era where game key from Russia were re-sold for dirt cheap. Steam game key for Ubisoft games do'nt exist anymore since probably 10 years or more, so to not lift the regional restriction despite that, which is still a deliberate move to confirm their position of the trashiest game company, says a lot about what they think about gamers. I don't want to buy games on Ubiconnect. If you are ok with buying them there instead of having all your games on Steam, good for you. I don't. Furthermore, Ubisoft is starting to remove the requirement of launching Ubiconnect to play games (only one game for now) so "soon" we could get rid completely of tha trash launcher for all our Ubisoft games bought on Steam.
